GREAT DELIVERANCE FROM FEAR

One of the greatest thing the Lord has delivered us from is fear of anything – failure, success, rejection, what people may say, what the devil is doing, death, sickness, being fat, being thin, the sack, loneliness, desertion, ostracising, excommunication, money, debt, economy, government policies, man, animal, situations, heights, space, sword, famine, austerity, family, the dark,  marriage etc. Fear is one of the most crippling factors in the world and in human life today. It makes you succumb to bullying, intimidation, threats and abuse. It discourages you from moving with God with distractions here and there through circumstances or situations. It makes you not to trust others. Some fears are subtle and it might be written boldly for all to see FEAR! It prevents people from preaching the gospel especially to those perceived as hard, or weird or dangerous or too rich to hear etc. Perfect love of God casteth out fear. God wants us to serve Him without fear every day until we go to be with Him. The only fear we should have is the fear or reverence or worship of God. Unlike satanic fear which make you to cower and withdraw to your shell and break relationships, Godly fear leads to repentance, righteousness, restoration, reconciliation, restructuring and reorganisation for good and Godly success and boldness to preach Christ. Godly fear is a gift and it is granted and received. Ask for the fear of God for yourselves, family, friend and the community. When a people fear God instead of things, men or the devil, the reign of God will prevail. The wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God, so do not fear the wrath of man. When rulers fear God, the nation they govern is transformed. When a community fear God, it brings a radical change across board. That is what all nations need – fear of God in the homes, church, children, youth, men, women, wives, husbands, workers, bosses (do not fear the boss, fear God and you will be able to serve even an ungodly or wrathful boss faithfully just like David and Saul). Do not fear pastors or minister of any portfolio rather fear God and that way you will be able to humble yourselves before them. The zeal of God will keep you fervently serving Him but the fear of the Lord keeps you holy and keeps you from sinning or disobeying the truth in His Word. Jesus paid the price to deliver us from the fear in the world into the fear of God.

Luke 1

⁶⁸Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

⁶⁹And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

⁷⁰As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

⁷¹That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

⁷²To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

⁷³The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

⁷⁴That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

END TIME IS ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

It is very vital that we do not get carried away by all the hustle and bustle of the world in topsy-turvy as the world prepares itself to meet with the Saviour and ruler of all, we as Christian should focus on what the Lord is doing. We need to look up because our salvation is nearer. Jesus said men’s heart will fail for looking on these things, so let us look at what God is doing. God has said in Isaiah 60 that darkness will cover the earth and gross darkness the people but that His glory will rise upon us and people will run away from that darkness to that GLORY that will eventually shine around us. The very thing that the Lord has told us not to bother about, those are the things we major eg abortion, gays, other religions, political issues, drugs, youth violence etc. Even the Lord Himself said in Romans that He has left those who have other sexual preferences to their mind and choices. What I believe the Lord wants us to major on is to seek Him, His kingdom and His will. His glory will come on us and those we feel are in these issues will see the light and glory in us and become saved. For example instead of fighting issues, let us ask for their Salvation. If one of them is saved, others of like mind will follow suit. If we fight these issues and win whether in court or whatever, you have only won a fight but not the battle because if their souls are not saved in Christ, then we have not fought a good fight no matter how righteous we think our fight is. God wants all men saved and be reconciled, not counting their sins against them. So we should concentrate more on as many souls getting saved and fulfilling their eternal purpose in Christ than picking issues. If we waste our ammunitions and time fighting issue which the Lord has said that such gross darkness and wickedness will cover the earth, then we need to change our strategy and concentrate on what the Lord is doing, not what man, society, politics, sects, groups, religion etc are doing. If a president is touched by God, a whole nation can be changed rather than looking at what they are doing. King James was touched by God and look at the glory that storm the earth. Please let us be focussed, the gospel of the kingdom is still the power of God today, but it seems we are more focussed on our actions, doings, etc to change people.

Isaiah 60

²For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

The new world order though it seems to be the plan of man, but the Lord is behind the scene orchestrating all things. It might not look like that to the physical eyes. Jesus Christ, the Lord will come when they least expect and indeed with thousands of saints and He will rule the world to bring the real and New World Order from the Kingdom of Heaven and rule from Jerusalem indeed. Note that all truth is parallel. Israel and Jerusalem is pitched right in the midst of the enemies to the West, East, North and South with conflicts over the ages yet it is still standing because God is sustaining it. In the same way our heart which is the seat of God is surrounded by our enemy the flesh not to talk of Satan’s onslaught. However the Lord will eventually prevail and our spirit, soul and body will line up with His will and in harmony with his eternal plan and purpose. The King will be Lord of our heart that the flesh will not be able to contest and eventually our whole life. All the contest will cease because Jesus is Lord and He is able to bring all into harmony. We can’t do it ourselves but by His Spirit. There is always the capstone Jesus in our heart, the solid foundation, the chief cornerstone which can never be dominated. The mountains will fall but that capstone will remain and will become the Chief Mountain, exalted above all other mountains. Our lives may turn to rubbles but eventually the glory will outshine and the new life in Christ will dominate. Just like in the book of Daniel, all the empires that tried to rule the world failed because they want to rule the capstone Israel of God with it. However they can’t. Jesus will show up, destroy them and scatter them beyond recognition for His new order to prevail. In the same parallel way, the battle of our lives is the Lord’s and He will come through, scatter all and establish His throne in our hearts. Little by little, precept upon precept, line upon line, His truth will increase and drive out all the enemies – hatred, unforgiveness, selfishness until the fruit of the Spirit prevail and manifest. We will become epistle seen and read by all. Therefore in the exposition of all the scripture including end time ones always look through the lens of the Holy Spirit to reveal the capstone or the King of Kings on whose shoulder is the Government. It may look like Europe, or America or the West or United Nations or any such alliances are organising, they are all eventually working together for good which is the eternal purpose of God. Imagine what kind of Christians we would be if we bear this in mind at all times – focussed and determine to see the rule of Christ. Look at Jesus Himself just patiently waiting for the Father’s order to come and rule and reign in Person and show that He is the true King and stop all these pomposity on the earth by nations and leaders who think that they are in power without acknowledging the One who is really in control. However, He is just patiently sitting at the right hand of the Father, watching and waiting so that the Church can evangelise more and get as many people saved before He comes. Oh! Thank You Jesus. If it is us we would be shouting on God the Father everyday – when, why, what, wherefore art thou and any language of impatience the earth can manufacture etc. We would be angry at all those people misbehaving when He is supposed to be King of all. Why can’t He just do it right now? The word of God says as He is so are we in this world, seated at the right hand of the Father watching and waiting as he works all things to His perfect will and eternal purpose in our lives and we reign with Christ as kings on the earth completely led by the Lord of all our hearts. With patience, Jesus has been elevated from the only begotten Son to the first begotten amongst brethren or first born of all sons of the Father. Note ABBA Father. It is the name Jesus came to reveal to us. God always hear us when we pray to that name and in the name of Jesus. The Jews have heard all sorts of names of God including Jehovah, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob but I believe they have never heard ABBA – Father, so personal from the other distant names. From God of this and that focussing more on what He does to ABBA Father, or my Father, a personal God, holding us in His loving hand, protecting, nourishing, gently leading us etc. That is awesome. So fear not and do not worry. Cast all cares on the Lord and watch and wait on the Lord while He bruises Satan under our feet and makes all enemies our footstool in Christ Jesus the Lord. The book of Daniel 2 says it all. So as Nebuchadnezzar, (ie current kings on the earth) worshipped God on earth in the time of Daniel having, let us by faith worship God and Jesus the King of kings on earth here now and by the Holy Spirit who revealed the secret to Daniel continue to reveal the secrets of the Kingdom to others as the Holy Spirit reveals to us by preaching Christ, the capstone, evangelising at every opportunity and preaching the gospel of God concerning His son Jesus Christ the Chief Cornerstone so that the gospel can be preached to the end of the world and then He will come. Note that we are the kings of the earth today because the Lord has made it so. Note that in our generation unlike before, the Lord is returning kingship to the saints today. History has been built around physical kings of the earth, from empires to earthly kingdoms but that has all changed by the sovereign move and rule of the Sovereign Lord who has conquered all the earthly kingdoms that only few rulers are called kings today (not Queens) on earth today because we, saints are the rightful kings of the earth now. So take your place in the spirit and begin to use your authority to establish the reign of Christ in every territory. There are political leaders, they can’t rule unless they go back to God for wisdom. Only kings rule, only kings have final say, only kings can veto decision. Satan knows this, so he tries to make us rely on political powers to take control, but they can’t because only kings rule. Satan kingship has been removed because he can only act through those who yield to him. There is no king on earth now that he can work through to destabilise nations, only few nations have kings on the earth today. However he can use deception to make us think he has the power over territories and regions. We must be kingdom minded at all times.  Where the word of a king is there is power and authority, so declare God’s Kingdom over the nations (you are king, God or Christ will reign in you over your territory), over cities, over towns until He is practically ruling and evil gives way, drug abuse, violence, crime is defeated and salvation and peace comes to reign in your region. That is the heart of God for us in this generation. I join you to speak and command a change in our cities, towns, nations and continents until change comes and the Lord shines in us and in the earth and communities around us. In this end time we have to be kingdom minded. There are only 2 kingdoms so that we can be very focuses and stop chasing politics and political leaders to make things better. I stress again – only kings rule!! You cannot tell a king what are you doing? So just declare the Lordship and Kingship of Jesus over your territory. Do not look at yourself, it is not by your might or power, yours is just to declare as a king on the earth. God has given us that responsibility for our territory and nations, not by violence or picket lines but on our knees and on our faces before God. Then go out with the word God gives you, and then take God’s secret to the world through preaching and evangelism and also your commitment to living a Christ like life on the earth no matter the circumstances or opposition of men. Take that word and speak it over your territory. Start now, start today. Please preach the word to all creature, evangelise. There are many expositions about the end time today. I am not an excellent scholar yet in the book of Revelation yet but He has simplified it enough even for simple minds. God has not even asked us to speculate, even Jesus who is coming does not know. Sometimes I wonder why we Christians major on works. It is works and not Grace to spent time analysing when Christ will come. Do not join them in doing that.  Paul says live evryday as if He is coming that day. The bible talk of scoffers who will say it is a long time, why hasn’t He come and counting the Lord’s patience for slackness, meanwhile it is an act of mercy by the Lord to withold so that many sons should come to glory. Let us keep it simple as Christ has told us. We don’t know. No one knows! Not even Him!!! If however you are too agitated to know when it will happen, there was only one sure sign among all other signs that Jesus mentioned which will really foretell the end and it is the preaching of the GOSPEL!! I have emphasised that in bold capital in Matthew 24:14.

MATTHEW 24:14

AND THIS GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM SHALL BE PREACHED IN ALL THE WORLD FOR A WITNESS UNTO ALL NATIONS; AND THEN SHALL THE END COME.

Daniel 2

³⁰But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart. (WE ARE THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TODAY)

³¹Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

³²This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

³³His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

³⁴Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

³⁵Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

³⁶This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

³⁷Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

³⁸And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

³⁹And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

⁴⁰And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

⁴¹And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

⁴²And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

⁴³And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

⁴⁴And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

⁴⁵Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

⁴⁶Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.

⁴⁷The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

⁴⁸Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

⁴⁹Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

Jude 1

¹⁴And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints.

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world. However, note that Paul mentioned tithe just once in his letter to the Hebrews but he talked about the Grace of giving through through most of his letter. He said what what have you that you did not recieve or given you freely by God through Christ Jesus. The New Testament ministry is by grace of God who makes us able ministers of the New Testament. You cannot minister the New Testament just because you have read it and you know it. The New Testament is grace displayed or revealed and has to relate to every sphere of our lives. You cannot use grace in one aspect and revert to law in the other. So we will examine the grace of God in giving in Christ Jesus. After Christ has died and made us complete or whole, there are no more fractions but He deals with us in a holistic way – He fills all in all. Please let us read 2 Cor 8 which really open the heart to giving. Giving grace is bestowed on us through Christ Jesus so that freely we have received freely we give as much as you like not by law of tithes and offering.

2 Corinthians 8

   ¹Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

   ²How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

   ³For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

   ⁴Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

   ⁵And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

   ⁶Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.

   ⁷Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

   ⁸I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

   ⁹For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

   ¹⁰And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

   ¹¹Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

   ¹²For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

   ¹³For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:

   ¹⁴But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:

   ¹⁵As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

   ¹⁶But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for

The Holy Spirit by Paul is telling us to make sure we know about this by studying this attitude of the Macedonian Church in giving. Paul was encouraging the Corinthians to emulate the Macedonian Church and indeed all of us today. Paul used their example because they were very poor in the physical but they had GRACE!! GRACE means everything even if the physical seems contrary. GRACE is a heart rich thing not analysed and sometimes cannot be fathomed with the human mind. Above all GRACE is whole and holy. We have reduced giving to mostly tithes and offerings because we have neglected grace. If you do not tithe or give offering, you won’t be blessed. Far from it. We are already blessed in Christ as you can see from verse 9. Paul says I do not command you anymore in the area of giving because you know Jesus has made you rich of His own free will. The main thing is that we should be good stewards of God’s blessing so that Christ and the Kingdom of God and the Gospel of Christ should be in our fibres and resources of any kind. Giving is everything. It is any good you do eg from a cup of water as Jesus said to greeting, doing your job well from the heart, supporting your wife or husband, doing things for your children, giving your time to listen to others, sharing the word, calling someone to see how they are, praying for others, praying at all, working in the church, giving your money, giving your property to be used for the cause of the Kingdom or Christ, giving food, resources, books, substance of any sort, giving a lift, counselling someone, having a good word etc The word of God says in

Ephesians 6:8

Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

So giving should not be reduced to just tithes and offering. There are basic principles of giving as we can see in the passage between verses 4 to13

1. 1.     Give yourself to the Lord. If you are not in Christ, God’s love, your giving will not count and you will go to hell even if you give all you have and made sure all the poor in the world do not starve.
2. 2.     Then give yourself to the men of God or to the things of God. If you do not give yourself to the Lord, you won’t give to God’s work. It is men that do God’s work.
3. 3.     People do not have to beg or cajole or plead for it. In fact they had to appeal to Paul to take their gifts. Paul did not want to take the gifts because he knew they were very poor in the physical. Then he saw it – GRACE
4. 4.     Once you are in Christ the readiness or grace or willingness to perform or give becomes inherent. It becomes a lifestyle not out of compulsion or fear eg if I don’t give I won’t be blessed. If you are not blessed, you can’t even breathe. You are dead. The bible says if you do not fulfil all the law or miss one you are a dead duck. See what I mean, so we are not under law of if you are but under GRACE of I AM ie present, current, alive – NOW!
5. 5.     Know we are already blessed because Christ took our poverty and became poor for our sake. So you see the Macedonian Church seem poor to the eyes but Paul talk about the “riches of their liberality” and abundance of joy despite poverty and great trial of affliction. It must be of a willing mind
6. 6.     It must be out of what you have not out of what you do not have. I have heard people say you should write IOU, please this is not biblical. This will help those who have pennies to give their widows mite and not be intimidated by those giving their millions.
7. 7.     It should not be a burden. People talk of when God ask them to give big amounts, they were afraid, burdened, struggled etc. They said when they gave it they got a big lump sum. God knows what He is doing. You must have a peace about what you are doing or anything you are giving. In the book of Acts of the Holy Spirit, after Pentecost people were just giving any how and every way, even their houses. Look at the Macedonian, they were poor. They could have been murmuring or struggling – how can we give these men who are themselves better than us or even richer. Instead they begged Paul to take the gift. Look what you have now is a blessing. Today people do not give to those that they think have more than them because they forget grace in giving.

Let us be free to give with the grace of giving. Be ready to give anyway and anyhow not because someone put you on a spot by capitalising on your emotions. That is called merchandising.  God does them free – miracles, signs, wonders, salvation, breathe, life so we should look at such extravagant grace and give joyfully and whole heartedly. If it is not whole hearted, keep it. Peter told Ananias and Saphira, it was in your power. You did not have to sell your house if you did not want to rather than promise or vow and not pay. It is better to keep your stuff if you are not sure or you do not have peace or even if you are not willing to give it. God won’t judge you for that.

The summary is that a child of the most high God in Christ Jesus gives as a lifestyle and it is not just money, tithe or offering but all things so that we do it with grace, love, joy and compassion not out of necessity just because you think that is what twisted God’s hand to bless you. No! Christ twisted God’s hand to bless you by the cross. He opened His hand from eternity to eternity, and all the blessing fell from heaven and he did not take them back because He could not as He nailed His own hands to the cross at the time He took you sin, forgave and blessed you. So though He would not change His mind but even if He changed His mind, He had sworn so he could not close or shut His hands because they were nailed to the cross.

Like Paul, I say to you “ABOUND IN THIS GRACE”

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world. When you first commit yourself to something, every fibre of your being goes into it including all your substance. Even when an addict commits to a drug, all his effort is to either purchase that drug or steal it. He knows the score that he can be caught, or killed but because of his passion nothing matters. He goes through every obstacle, danger and hinderances to get wht he or she wants. That should be our principle. Give yourself to God by Jesus Christ, to the things of God and then to the men and women God is using and indeed to His people. That is why Jesus even said, Dad, Abba, you don’t delight in offering and sacrifices anymore because they have not done man any good but you prepared a body for me. We are his body today. So present yourselves living sacrifices or bodies to serve him. His main offering today is the fruit of our lips. This is because we can’t do anything apart from Him. He does it all. The ability to give, pray, fast, breathe, walk, work, drink, pay your bills etc. He does it all. So the least you can do is to tell Him well done papa, well done sir, well done Jesus, well done Holy Spirit and then put all you have got into the Kingdom of God (KOG). Things will begin to line up.

Hebrews 10

   ⁵Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

   ⁶In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

   ⁷Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

   ⁸Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

   ⁹Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

   ¹⁰By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

We are still doing the sacrifices today only that we have changed it to money. We bring money for tithes and offering in the hope that we can twist God’s hands to release His blessing. Indeed we expect money back, so when we give £10, we expect a 100 fold return and wait for £1000 meanwhile God has already blessed in Christ and out of this blessing we are giving. It is first vertical then horizontal. We get from God and we give. Hence against human wisdom, it is more blessed to give. You give because you are blessed. Some are waiting for the million or the jaguars, tangible things to profess to all that they are blessed. Jesus said, a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions. Just because you have all the world’s goods does not mean you are blessed. Once you are in Christ, you are blessed right now even in your one room or hut.  You are richer than the richest man who has not received Christ. So be grateful and prepare your body in prayer, fasting and studying Him, His word and knowing Him. Then He will fill us for what He wants to do and that includes giving, doing our work with all our hearts, loving others – every good thing. We should stop majoring on what we are doing and focus on what He is doing. It is about God doing a new thing through us not we trying to catch up with Him.

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world. Jesus rebuked some of the religious contemporaries in His days in the flesh that they seem to thrive on the doctrine of tithes and offerings but neglect weightier matters of judgement, justice and mercy. For instance, the y neglected mercy when they tried to stone the woman caught in adultery. Note that whatever Jesus said in His days were under the law because He has not paid the ultimate price yet to bring humanity under grace. Note that He said even under the law, there are weightier matters than tithes and offerings because he will become the ultimate offering and sacrifice for all humanity to set us free to live under grace and mercy. When we preach grace and mercy, some righteous folks don’t like it because they think it is the cheap option or that we are taking grace for granted. Not at all. Yes it is cheap and easy for us because it cost God everything. Everything consists in the Son. God laid our sins, punishment and consequences on Jesus Christ.  So now, all we need is to confess Jesus as Lord and you are saved – wow! That simple! That is why those of you who are yet to confess Jesus as Lord for one reason or the other, the bible says “how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation”? Receive Jesus as your Lord and saviour today! Do not let anyone or religion, your many times of prayer, penitence, or anything prevent you from acknowledging the Son of God Jesus Christ and His eternal sacrifice. So what God did is not about money but about a holistic person and a holistic humanity in one man Christ Jesus. Your generosity in giving and indeed anything you do in the kingdom should be motivated by this. We are blessed because of the sacrifice of Jesus not by our works of tithing or offering or any such things. Beware of the god of Mammon because eventually you will worship the god of Mammon (money eg give £10 and get £40 doctrine) thinking that it is the money you give or because you are so good, hence God is blessing you. We have even taking it to another level by announcing and honouring the big givers and the poor ones who give their pennies are sidetracked. In the grace of giving, that ought not to be so. The rule is to give your millions or your pennies generously with a heart of thanksgiving. Freely we have received, freely we give.

Matthew 23:23

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Isaiah 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
