GRACE OF GIVING – PHASE 4

I AM BLESSED FREELLY

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world. Tithe according to some opens the window of heaven but Jesus has come as the Offering of offerings. Now Jesus said no man can get to the Father but by Him, not by tithes, or offerings or tangible goods or any such things. Why do you want to go through the window when the door of the sheep is open continually? Only the thief goes through the window. We are now sons. We go direct to the Father in heaven. God loves us as He loves Jesus. He freely gave us all things including the blessing. So because we have received freely we give liberally, generously with a heart of gratitude for the manifold grace and mercy of God upon us through Jesus not out of compulsion or guilt or cajoling or for fear of not being blessed etc. The erroneous belief that we only give within 4 walls of the church has made us forget that every good thing we do including saying hello or putting a smile in someone’s face is all giving. It is not all about money. We are not redeemed by tangible things but it appears we are trying to redeem and bless ourselves again based on the things we do rather than the free blessings bestowed on us by Jesus Christ Himself. Let us not reduce the great blessing of the Lord by using tangible things as evidence. Jesus clearly states that a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of His possession.

Romans 8

32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

GRACE OF GIVING – PHASE 5

BLESSED FREELLY

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world. Let us not reduce the great blessing of the Lord by using tangible things as evidence. Jesus clearly states that a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of His possession.

The life of Christ is not about us or anyone, it is not about the ego or status or any such things  but it is about Christ in us affecting lives, villages, towns, cities and nations with the blessing that is in us. This should happen daily joyfully expecting the glory and goodness of the Lord on a daily basis. This was the work Jesus did on a daily basis by the Holy Ghost. He went about doing good. Jesus said the work He did we will do also. When we stay in tune with the Lord we will be happening everywhere and not be confused with should I do this or that. It is about staying close to the Lord on a daily basis and not leaning unto our understanding. We should be in readiness for every good work – thinking, saying and doing things because of the grace, power and the anointing of God. So even at our work, school, home, park, church, community etc God is glorified. Hence Jesus after ministering stayed close to God in prayer because Satan does not like that and we need to be refreshing by hanging out with God regularly. After a hard day, press the refresh button and say it is good, sleep well and expect another exciting day with the Lord knowing you are blessed to be a blessing to all and sundry not just in money or tangible things.

Acts 10:38

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

GRACE OF GIVING – PHASE 6

BLESSED FREELLY

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world.

Some may say what about Abraham that tithing was not in the law. See phase 7 for account of Abraham in the Old Testament. Note that it is not the tithe Abraham gave that made Melchizedek pleased with him. He already brought wine and bread to celebrate with him and then blessed him ever before Abraham gave tithes of all. As civilisation evolved, even the Jews have to find ways of fulfilling sacrifices in alternative way. We are also doing the same as Pentecostals stating that tithing is about money and to represent this by giving a tenth of our salaries for those working. Some even argue over whether it is Nett or gross income that you should tithe. It says Abraham gave tithes of all. We have reduced that to just money eg tenth of your earnings. So if you really want to tithe for the blessing then you would need to give tithes of all your possession including money. All means all, no exception. You are not God and so there is no private interpretation of the Scripture equating money as all. Money may answer all things but money is not all things. Abraham had money in his days. He paid cash for a land of burial, so he must have given tithe of money and all his other possessions. So he might as well have paid cash and left his possession. Let us wake up that it is no more of works but of the grace of God through the sacrifice of Christ. Moreover, when you read the whole passage Abraham has no ulterior motive of expecting anything. He just expressed His Father’s character of generosity. Right after he tithed, he was offered stuff but he refused them. If it is in our time, that would be a testimony. As soon as I tithed, so and so came and gave 5 times more than I tithed and the gullibility and merchandising just multiplies. In Hebrew 7, Paul said such COMMANDMENT was unprofitable and God has to disannul it by Christ Jesus.

Genesis 14

18And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

19And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

21And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.

22And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

23That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

24Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

GRACE OF GIVING – PHASE 7

FREELY BLESSED

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world.

The Lord says that He desires mercy, not sacrifices. We should continue to do good things. When you do good, that is considering others and that is love demonstrated. The emphasis should be on well doing or doing well always, wherever, whenever and whoever as the Spirit leads, not on tithes and offerings. Whatever things you do from the heart is accepted before the Lord through Christ Jesus including the tithes and offering. We need not put any extra emphasis on tithes and offerings. There were loads of different offerings in the old testament eg sin, burnt, heave, peace, meat trespass offerings etc. However, by the grace of God, Jesus Christ became ONE offering for all these other offerings and sacrifices. So the first and foremost sacrifice in the New Testament is that of our lips, giving thanks, praise and worship to God. These are the kind of believers God seeks today. Everyone should seek God but God seeks worshippers not those who can tithe and give offerings. We should not reduce giving only within the 4 walls of “church” or reduce giving to just stuff and money – it includes your time, energy, helps, caring etc as the Lord gives you grace to do

Galatians 6

6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not

Hosea 6:6

For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Ephesians 6:8

Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

GRACE OF GIVING – PHASE 8

FREELY BLESSED

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world.

Some may say what about Abraham that tithing was not in the law. Let us see the account of Abraham. He gave tithes of all out of the great victory. Remember Saul tried to do the same when he left all the good stuff after a major victory saying that they will be useful as offering to the Lord. The bible says that before Abraham tithed, sin was in the world. The time that the Lord pronounced generational blessing which was part of His original plan from Genesis anyway was when Abraham sacrificed His beloved son which is a typology of Jesus the Lamb of God. It is only by that ONE blood offering that sins have been forgiven and we are blessed, not by tithes and offerings. Remember the song “Abraham’s blessings are mine” by Christ Jesus the SEED to whom the blessing was originally promised. Note that Melchizedek had already blessed Abraham and was indeed happy and celebrating with him with wine and bread before he even gave tithes of all. He did not give tithes to get the blessing, he was already blessed. So this is not just about carnal things, it is more to do with the generous heart to return to the ONE who blessed us. It is VIP not to flog the word just because we want tithes and offerings. Rather go and work as Apostle Paul did unless your congregation is strong enough to sustain you out of their willingness and voluntary offerings. The scripture is not of private interpretation. The bible says abraham gave tithes of ALL but some of us good preachers have turned this to MONEY and salary. Others even interprete whether it is gross or net. There is nothing like that in the word and those are private interpretations. You cannot fulfil any part of the law completely to satisfy God. He is already satisfied with the blood of Jesus because all our acts of righteousness to meet God’s criteria, the Lord says are filthy rag. Our righteousness (right stand with God) at any time is in the blood of JESUS CHRIST.

Genesis 14

16And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

18And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

19And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

20And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

GRACE OF GIVING – PHASE 10

BLESSED BY OATH

TITHES AND OFFERINGS

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world. Please read Phases 1-9 so you can follow this series to really have a full grasp.

The Scripture is not of any private interpretation. One of the deceptions today is the interpretation of the only time Paul mentioned tithe in the New Testament in Hebrews chapter 7. They interpret it to mean that we give tithe to Jesus today. Fortunately, the book of Hebrews is one book that outlines all the works that men did to get God’s attention and blessings through sacrifices via priests, chief priests and high priests and then opens our eyes to the gift of God in Christ the great High Priest that delivered us from all such things. In other words, the book of Hebrews fulfil the words of the song “He saw my need and rescued me”. We need to look Hebrews 7 line upon line precept upon precept to really grasp this. Please be patient to go through though it may be long. Always check the scriptures as Paul said whether it is so no matter who preaches it to you. Some truth in the Occupy journal: 1 Volume 29 pg 4 of the CAPRO Ministry stated that much of the false doctrines we have today came on the wings of money. Judge for yourself prayerfully whether this sensitive subject of tithes and offering as rendered in Hebrews 7 is truth.

Hebrews 7

   1For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

Note: He met Abraham while returning from slaughter, so it was not something Abraham did routinely as it is today. He blessed Abraham before ever Abrahan gave tithes of ALL not just money.

   2To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

Note: Abraham gave tenth part of all – money, grains, cattle, livestock etc – ALL. Why have we reduced this to money today? If we have to be blessed by tithing, then it has to be ALL. God does not lower His standard to suit us, He knew that we could not ever attain to them. It is only that His standards have been met by Christ’s sacrifice to make us righteous and blessed before Him. It might not look so in the physical but we are what we are by His grace.

3Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

He is a priest continually and does not die. Jesus is our endless hope. That is why we can continue even when we “fail”

4Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

Note tenth of the spoils from 5 nations. It is like suddenly discovering oil on your land when you have been struggling all your life. You will be a fool not to be grateful and give God your best.

5And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

Now some say tithing was before the law. Like all things, what Abraham did by grace became law ie tithing became law and not of grace. Abraham got Ishmael who is also a son but that was by works and human wisdom. However the Son of His grace is the one that will inherit the divine blessing both spiritual and physical. Works will only bring the physical. Let us be patient through trials and tribulation so we can inherit that which is of the grace of God.

6But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

See, He blessed Abraham that had the promises. We have the promises today by Christ Jesus

7And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

We are all less than God, Christ and the Holy Spirit. We are blessed by Him who is greater than us through our great High Priest.

8And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

On earth men that die receive tithes under the law ie the Levites. In heaven this is received by God from Christ Jesus, now our High Priest. Jesus blood fulfilled any offering under the law to the letter and God is satified.

9And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

The blessing is a generational one. Levi was in the loins of Abraham when he paid tithe and the word of God says for that, Levi has automatically paid tithe. The same way, ONE man’s obedience brought everyone righteousness, grace, mercy and blessing not what we do or did not do. The Bible says what we try to do to meet God’s standards (ie our own righteousness) is as filthy rag. What we do should be by faith in Christ and out of gratitude for what He has done for us. So any good we do is a thank you to the Lord rather than a means of twisting His hand. His hands are already open towards us. So we can sing “Abraham’s blessings are ours by the Grace of God through Christ”.

10For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

See again the generational correlation of the blessing. In the same way, we were in Christ before the foundation of the world. We are in this world but not of this world. That which is born of the flesh is flesh that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

11If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

What Paul is saying by the Spirit is that if the law including that which commanded men to give tithes was perfect, then Jesus would not have come. No part of the law made anyone perfect, but the Great High Priest’s sacrifice made us perfect before God.

12For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Look here! There has to be a change in the law including tithing because it cannot make anyone perfect or blessed or forgiven or free. The Son sets and makes free

13For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

14For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

Verses 13 and 14 says that Jesus did not come from Levite tribe who were the bona fide priests and high priest according to law. Automatically, Jesus should come from the Levites the legitimate priest lineage. But so that it may be of grace by the God and Father who conferred it on Him by oath and we also have become priests under the High Priest by oath. We being gentiles were not even entitled to know God let alone be in the priesthood, it has been conferred on us by grace. We are all priest under grace ministering to the Lord in praise and worship and we are equal before Him. We are all ministers, so who should receive tithes and offerings. None of us. We should give out of the generosity of our hearts being privileged to be priests and people of God especially the gentiles.

15And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

So there has to be a new High Priest of a new order, not the old order of the law and Levitical priesthood. We are a royal priesthood. No wonder Paul only mentioned tithe in passive just once in the New Testament. Presumably, there might have been arguments in those days especially among the Jews who have been exposed to tithing all their lives.

16Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

New Life, New order. People keep mentioning new world order, well I have good news for you, Jesus Christ the great High Priest is the new order. That is why Jesus was not received in those days by the priests and chief priests, they did not recognise Him because He did not come or assume office as the routine priests who went through ceremonies of sacrifice and cleansing before they functioned.

17For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

18For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

Can you see that? Note Paul was enlightening the Hebrews, Jews to whom tithing was a ritual and a routine about the law with specific emphasis on tithing law. The old commandment including tithing was disannulled by the oath of God. That Levitical lineage has seized. The new Melchisedial priesthood has taken over because the old order was weak and unprofitable.

19For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

There you go! The law including that of tithing made nothing perfect. It was just ritual and routine which did not make people to draw near in their hearts to God because they feel they have to perform the law or duty or tithe or bring something other than themselves to be near to God and be blessed. It made them more selfish rather than Christish. Paul said for us to present ourselves as living sacrifice before God — our reasonable worship. Come freely but be generous with what the Lord gives you for his Kingdom.

20And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:

21(For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

Note, this is by oath of God Himself and cannot change, whether by man, saint or heathen. You can preach tithe till you are blue, eventually it will not be profitable for you at the end. You can amass as much but you will continue demanding for more. This new order cannot be disannulled by theology.

22By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

JESUS Christ and His blood alone is now our surety of every good thing from God the Father or heaven, not tithe or offerings. By the way, why do you want to go through the windows of heaven when the door of the sheep is open? Are you a goat or a thief? You decide. I hear that people become church members by tithing, and some names are put in plaques and is a criterion for ministry. There are even different tiers of tithing. Our priesthood is inherited.

23And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

It says the men you give tithes to here to get approval will die. You may say you are giving it to God, but he says he does not need anything from you, but He wants your heart and your whole being. Commit to Him and you will act generously to the works of His Kingdom, then that will be recorded as an eternal reward for you.

24But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

This new order is unchangeable, whether you are bishop or pope or theologian or a super saint. Absolutely no private interpretation.

25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

There you go. We are not saved or blessed of perishable stuff but by the WORD – JESUS and He is able to save to the uttermost including blessings when we just appear before God or come to Him by Jesus Christ rather than by tithes and offerings

   26For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

He is higher than any earthly thing that you can tithe with.

27Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Jesus has offered Himself wholly once and for all time as tithe to God the Father who received it Heaven. Don’t ask me to explain because I can’t. All I know is that He did it because He said it. Vs 27 says these men that you give tithes to on earth here are not perfect but they too have sins themselves and they all have to come to the High Priest Jesus for their own sins and therefore they cannot save you no matter how much you tithe. Look unto Jesus then give generously. It is a new day, it is a new order.

28For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

That settles it and it will not change or repent the Lord. Jesus is now your High priest, your everything. Stop feeling guilty or condemned because of those who want to merchandise you and look to the grace of the Lord. Tithing in the New Testament is not profitable for you, because they will keep demanding it and you will continue ritualising it and your heart will be further from God thinking that it is your tithing or works that has made you blessed. As the demand comes more and more, you become bitter and when things do not go as expected, you question God and doubt Him and you begin also to doubt His ministers and some may even quit the church because the “window of heaven is not open to them”. They become faint and weary. The ministers too become weary as they depend on tithe rather than the generous graceful, thankful giving of Christians and what is coming in cannot maintain the gigantic edifices because we have neglected Christ who is able to save us to the uttermost including financially. Though we do not say it, we have neglected Christ and began to look to the people to finance and build the Church. The law demands, Grace Supplies. You think the Apostles were foolish that they accomplished so much but yet worked or are we holier than them. Believe the truth, let no man beguile or condemn you because of tithing. That is exactly what the law does. There is no condemnation, shame or guilt with Christ. That is why we can appreciate His great sacrifice and give generously, cherfully and thankfully without fear.

Note that it is not the tithe Abraham gave that made Melchizedek pleased with him. He already brought wine and bread to celebrate with him and then blessed him ever before Abraham gave tithes of all. As civilisation evolved, even the Jews have to find ways of fulfilling sacrifices in alternative means and modify things so as to fulfil the law. It says Abraham gave tithes of all. We have reduced that to just money eg tenth of your earnings. So if you really want to tithe for the blessing then you would need to give tithes of all your possession including all moneys and stuff. All means all, no exception. You are not God and so there is no private interpretation of the Scriptures equating money as all. The new birth in Christ requires all not just tenth or any fractions. It is holistic. You give Him all your rubbish, He takes your all and He gives you His all, His goodness and blessings. It is a total exchange when you give your heart to Jesus, become born again and a child of the most High God. It is about the heart. When you give your heart totally to the Lord, then you focus on Kingdom business and leave your business to the Lord by faith of Christ. Every fibre of you becomes kingdom oriented. Don’t swallow everything hook line and sinker. Search the scripture yourselves as Paul who was an apostle then, said of the Berean Christians because the Lord said the scripture is not of any private interpretation. Somehow due to our microwave mentality, even ministers want people to take what they say hook line and sinker instead of pointing people to Christ. You have a divine purpose to know God for yourself, not the one “whom Paul or Sam-Best or anyone preaches”.

Matthew 13

44Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

45Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

46Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world.

As I said in previous phases of this series, we are priests of the Lord and Jesus Christ is the great High Priest. We no more have earthly high priest. We should have mutual respect for one another but we are heirs together of the grace and manifold wisdom of God. The fact that you are on the pulpit does not make you differ from the usher. We are all ministers of God. While we are to give generously to the work of the Kingdom of God, no man has monopoly to order tithe or offerings from any other child of God in the guise of them getting blessed. That is clearly merchandising. We are blessed and this blessing is not focussed in tangible things. Tangible or perishable stuff are just addition and not the yardstick or evidence of being blessed. You can be riding on a bicycle and yet carry the glory of God to nations. However, God may give you a job so you can be more effective in preaching the gospel, but that does not make you more blessed than those who contribute their widow’s mite to the ministry. As Hebrews 7 says, such acts are unprofitable though they may seem to profit as momentary gratification but in the longer term, the unprofitableness of it becomes obvious. We are labourers together in the Lord’s Vineyard. Jesus gave a parable of workers who started at different times yet He paid them equally. This is why the Apostles worked though they were entitled to merchandise others by virtue of all the miracles. At no point did Jesus tell anyone to bring money as seed for miracles. He gave freely. Indeed, he fed the crowd without demanding from them any material thing. See Paul’s account below in 1 Cor 3. The apostles did not demand any material things but they asked the believers to abound in the grace of giving generously and cheerfully to the work of the Kingdom. If you are building on the foundation of tithe and offering especially money, the unprofitability will come out with time. That is what the scripture says. Please note verse 12 and we can add pounds, dollars, naira etc. Do not let anyone put you back under guilt or condemnation in view tithes and offering from which the Lord Jesus Himself has delivered us from. Search the scriptures yourself. Remember, narrow and strait is the way and only few find it. Search the Scripture yourself, no matter who is preaching it to you even if he is an apostle.

1 Corinthians 3

9For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

   12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

14If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

   21Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your’s;

   22Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your’s;

23And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.

GRACE OF GIVING – PHASE 13

FREELY BLESSED

GRACE OF GIVING

If the Bible was written in our time, it would have been filled with tithes and offering from Genesis to Revelation. Also it would have read for God so loved the world that He gave tithes and offering to save the world. Let us not reduce the great blessing of the Lord by using tangible things as evidence. Jesus clearly states that a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of His possession. So the lesson is that the Lord deals with you holistically and so give yourself and all you have got to the Lord, His plan and purpose on the earth today.

Expectations is that all believers should walk everyday as they go about their business to be ready to use the gifts and the blessings He has given you as the Lord wills even in non-congregational and  “non-church” environments and situations. So we wake up every day expecting the Lord to work or move through us as it is written “How God anointed Jesus Christ with the Holy Ghost and with power and He went about doing good and healing all…. Acts 10:38. This is exactly what the early church did. Indeed, the book of Acts of the Apostles should be re-titled the Acts of the Holy Spirit. So it is not about asking God can I go here or there or do this or that but believing and knowing that you are a God carrier who believes that in Christ you live, move and have your being so that wherever you find yourself and whenever, you expect the Lord to move, work or manifest in you and through you. It makes serving the Lord exciting, simple and free. As you do that everyday, being faithful in the little eventually you will hit the “big one” but I assure you that the Lord appreciate you and every little helps you do.
