GRACE OF GIVING – PHASE 14

FREELY BLESSED

GRACE OF GIVING

Doing good always is the main thing about the grace of giving, not tithes and offerings. It is being merciful and having a generous heart like the Father

The main thing about giving is being generous in all things at all times to all and sundry when you have and not what you do not have. It is being generous as gratitude to God without ulterior motives because we know that our Father has blessed us through Jesus. It is not about tithes and offerings. We should not use the stuff in this world as our yardstick of spirituality. How do you know that you love the stuff of this world? You love the things of this world and money when you dwell on it most times, talk about it, brag about it and mostly use this stuff as evidence of blessing, spirituality and your level or status in God. You also love the world and its stuff when it becomes a ritual and focus and become a distraction from the living God and Christ our Saviour. It is very subtle and most will not agree with this. You love the world and its stuff when it subtly becomes your object or motive of giving and when you rely and what you do to get “blessed” rather that the ultimate price of our freedom and blessings, CHRIST. Such testimony will be “I did that and that, prayed all night, gave £40 or other currency and got this and that, meanwhile it is the same Lord that inspires you to pray, to give etc. It is by His grace that you can work, pray, give or do anything at all. Jesus said apart from Me you can do nothing – GGGRRRAAACCCEEE. It should not be so. If we neglect the grace of God and keep chasing after those things that Jesus said are additions to being kingdom minded and oriented, then our hearts goes farther from God into ourselves, what we can do and what we can achieve by our rituals of praying, tithing, giving offerings or other ulterior motives of getting “blessed”. As we live daily, the Lord meets our needs, helps us and provides for us for His work. Any good you do as a child of God is rewarded. Paul says, I preach Christ and Him crucified not ourselves. When we preach ourselves, we brag about the stuff but when we preach Christ, we preach the Kingdom and the KOG is not in meat and drinks or stuff and money. It is the cleansing healing power of the blood. It is about redemption, salvation and the name of Christ exalted everywhere. Jesus said that my kingdom is not of this world. The KOG is not by observation, it within us hence we have to declare it and live it for others to see and one way is by our generosity to the just and the unjust, to the thankful and the unthankful, to all men and not just the 4 walls of the “church”.

Ephesians 1

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

1 John 2

15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Galatians 6

6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

THE RESURRECTED JESUS CHRIST

GO TELL

TELLING FORTH THE GOSPEL OF THE RESURRECTED JESUS CHRIST

There is something about the telling or preaching the gospel that astound all. It is not about us so that when the Lord commissions, He does not look at our weaknesses because He wants us to be witnesses that these feeble unlikely men can have something that can change the world. However, in our generation, we do not put this to use because we want to be strong, grow etc and eventually we out grow ourselves from the basics. One thing I notice is that whenever I preach the gospel and lives are touched, it satisfies me and I forget my own problems and begin to take on their fights and pray for them. Most times, we are more concerned with our own flaws and the devil has a thousand reasons especially fear or embarrassment why you are not fit to minister if you let him. Note that in Mark 16:1-9 the same thing happened to the 2 women. Jesus appeared to the women first, why not big faith Peter who walked on water or loving John who always rested on Chrit’s bosom. No, He chose 2 feeble fearful women. The angel told them in verse 6, be not affrighted or afraid. Why? Because ye seek Jesus who WAS crucified. He is risen There you go, we seek ourselves more, what he can do for us than rather than Jesus. We should seek the risen Lord not the crucified ONE we seek today. He is no more dead. He is not in the grave. “He is not here”. Oh! Religion and works – I bind you!! I receive grace. We have to seek Him and find the risen King first to accept what He has done and to thank and worship Him forever for all He did, going to the cross and grave. The next thing is to let that fill us with so much love and gratitude to fall at the Fathers feet with profuse worship and thanksgiving. Note, don’t seek Jesus at the cross or grave. The angel said, He is not here!! This is what distinguishes the Christian faith from all other faiths. Yes He was crucified, He died, but He rose. It is finished. That chapter is closed. The new order and new life He came to purchase for us has begun. He is now at the Right Hand of the Father, seated, watching and praying for us that we will fulfil His purpose and that of the Father. So we worship Christ and the Father wiping His feet with tears of gratitude not of mourning and sorrow.  That was the first question that Jesus asked the 2 disciples going to Emmaus in Luke 24. “Why are you talking about me and you are sad”. When Jesus revealed to them He is no more there and that it is their minds playing up on them, they ran back to Jerusalem after trekking a whole day. What a revelation that brings revolution. I say again, I bind religion and release GGRRAACCEE

Then let the thoughts of the great suffering that Jesus took for us fill us with so much love and gratitude to ask Him and the Father, what can we do to thank you? The answer is simple in the same as in Mark verse “but go your way – TELL! Very simple. As you go about daily, take your pulpit and seek opportunity to tell about the risen Christ. Tell it in the market stall, at the shop, at the dry cleaner, at work, at school etc. When we seek Jesus like that, there will be angelic manifestations. First question the 2 women asked was who shall. Romans 10 say we should not ask that kind of question anymore because Jesus has come and the word is nigh you. The next thing was that they continued to be afraid when the angel told them not to and by verse Mark 8 they could not tell (preach) because they were afraid. It did not say tell about yourself, Paul said we preach Christ not ourselves. If you tell about yourself sometimes, nothing good to tell. Paul said in me dwelleth no good thing. So please let us go and tell, that He suffered, he died and He rose and He is at the right hand of the Father and that He is coming back again. Let us go out there and tell them house to house, town to town, and community to community. We meet to be equipped to GO and TELL as commissioned. Just look at the 2 – women and one who had 7 devils. We are blessed and should be glad to GO and TELL

Mark 16

1And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

2And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

3And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

4And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

7But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

8And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they anything to any man; for they were afraid.

9Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

Luke 24

13And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

14And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

15And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

16But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

17And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?

18And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
