THE TRUE GOSPEL

The true gospel is by declaration. It is not a persuasive gospel. Rather it is the gospel of Christ and the Grace of God encompassed in it, so that men might know this grace and receive it. That type of Gospel has intrinsic power to convict the vilest sinner, so it is not by force but by an internal working of the Holy Spirit.  It is not by analysis or fair argument or eloquence to appeal to men but it must be by revelation by the Spirit, a revelation of Jesus as Paul named it. It is what we receive from the Lord as we hang out with Him and when we hang out with Him enough, that gospel will reveal more and more our human frailty, reveal the grace of God and help us to be more and more dependent on God and His grace which is what we then preach. We should listen to men of God always but not preach after men. The gospel we declare should be what the Lord helps us to understand. The Bible says we should not build on another man’s foundation and that there is no other foundation other than the Lord Jesus. When we preach like that, then we declare it with great boldness when the Lord gives us the opportunity. This one is not by conferring with men but by conferring with the Lord who said study to shew thyself approved unto God not men. The conclusion of the matter is that if the gospel is devoid of grace or Christ, discard it fast no matter who preached it. Note that we can start with grace and err from it and begin to preach law. How do you test the gospel of Grace? The true Gospel focuses you on what the Lord has done for us. It tells you about the supply of God and encourages you to receive it freely. Law on the other hand places demand on you to do so that you can receive or earn something. On the other hand, with grace, God did all for us, we receive and the outcome is that God gets the glory every day, forever. You pray alright but it is by his power, you give alright but it from what He has given you, you do well alright but it is from His goodness in you by Christ Jesus. Grace starts with the Lord and ends with Him. Remember Cornelius who did all the right things but devoid of grace because he has not received Jesus but God had mercy on him and sent Peter to him. After you have been preached to by anyone, go and hang out with the Lord with the message and ask Him to give you revelation of that message. The disciple did that all the time. Anytime Jesus gave a parable to the crowd, as soon as they are alone with Jesus, they begin to ask “Lord what was that parable all about”. Then Jesus will explain it to them with grace.

Galatians 1

¹⁰For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

¹¹But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

¹²For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

¹³For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

¹⁴And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

¹⁵But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,

¹⁶To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Romans 15:20

Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:

1 Corinthians 3

⁹For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

¹⁰According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

¹¹For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

SALVATION IS GLOBAL – THE DRIVE FOR EVANGELISM

That God’s salvation is global may be a shocking statement to most of us but this is the gospel truth. God wants the whole world saved!! God desires that everyone be saved because Jesus paid the price. He wants salvation to be global.  God’s heart and Heaven are big enough for every one of the almost 7 billion souls in the world. As we intercede, know that God is not angry with the world at the moment because the blood of Jesus Christ has touched and cleansed it. So we too when we pray should not pray with wrath at the world but with love and compassion because God paid a great price for all men. This is one of the vital reasons why we should evangelise. God wants us everywhere to do the work of an evangelist. The Lord says we should preach to every creature. That is the will of God. All people, all colour, all races deserve to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. This is why He has sent us to the world to tell them this salient truth so they can repent. God is in the business of reconciliation and He has given us such a powerful ministry to tell the world that He is not counting men’s sin against them because he knows it is difficult. The Lord says we should not judge any man now but to love them because judgement is waiting for those who reject Christ now. We are quick to judge after external circumstances or if things are going wrong or if someone is doing something wrong. You can correct in love but do not judge any man. Let us look at it this way. God gave man one (1) commandment in the posh Garden of Eden with everything in it, yet man flunked it. You think He would be tyrant enough to give man, 10 or even all the over 400 commandments in the law to keep when he could not even keep one. Far from it. The law was to bring us to Christ. Man had sinned and continued sinning before the ten or more commandments came. The ten commandment was broken to pieces at one point and in the New Testament, Jesus put the stone beneath the mercy seat and sat on it so that grace may abound to all by the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world – Praise God. Be saved, receive Jesus today. It is a free gift that can never be earned. The Lord says, all our efforts to fulfil His requirement are as filthy rags. Receive the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus and start fellowshipping with Him and the brethren by His word – the Maker’s Manual so you can rest in your soul from the rat race.

Isaiah 45

²²Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

1 Timothy 2

¹I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

²For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

³For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

⁴Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

⁵For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

⁶Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

⁷Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

⁸I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

God’s heart and Heaven is big enough for every one of the almost 7 billion souls in the world. That is the prayer we should be praying. The Lord says do not fear him that can kill the body but fear Him that kills the body and the soul. So, sometimes we need to forget the darkness, gross darkness, circumstances, issues and go for the Salvation of the soul which is the Lord Jesus coming into people’s heart so that God’s plan will begin to unfold. For example, giving food to someone hungry is the right thing to do but if that person dies after eating all the times of their lives without receiving Jesus that is a huge loss. If such person received Jesus, they won’t die but even if they die, the soul is saved. So salvation is higher in the heart of God than anything this world can afford

John 1:29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 1:36
And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

The gospel is that everyone is heading for hell because of the first Adam sin (disobedience) but there is a substitute who experienced hell for us. Now all we need do is accept that substitution and start heading for heaven. He will ensure that. The source of all man’s problems – curses is sin, now Jesus came and the blessing came as God promised

Genesis 22:17
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies

Hebrews 6:13
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

Hebrews 6:14
Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

God made good this promise in Christ Jesus. So Jesus took the cup of wrath, to give us the cup of Salvation to be poured out on the world for us to make his Salvation global. God turned His back on Jesus and He was able to look at us. Now we can see His Face not just His back. We see His Face and live. – Halleluya!

Psalm 116

¹²What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

¹³I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

It is by the blood and because of that, God is no more counting or imputing trespasses unto men but calling for reconciliation. Also, God is no more judging men until they die. All His effort now is to ensure that souls are saved, so that they not go to hell. Anything short of this is the devil. So when people die without Jesus, they face the judgement and they can’t win because JESUS the author of salvation is also the JUDGE

Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

2 Corinthians 5

¹⁴For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

¹⁵And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

¹⁶Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

¹⁷Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

¹⁸And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

¹⁹To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

²⁰Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

²¹For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Every Christian preaching the gospel must bear this in mind. I believe that is why Jesus healed and did good things. He was not judging, He saw people cleansed and so wherever He was sin and darkness has to disappear – so there was healing and deliverance galore.

As far as God is concerned JESUS the Lamb is slain and he has taken away the sins of the world. Just as one man’s disobedience brought curse and all died, by one man JESUS CHRIST’s obedience, the blessing has come upon the world if only they would accept it and thank God for it.

The story of the death of Jesus Christ to pay for our salvation is that of intense love of the Father for the world, you and I. This love made God to release His only Son to die a painful death on the cross. That love released Jesus to be crucified. God had to look away or forsake Jesus if not there was no way anyone could touch let alone kill Him. Jesus walked away from them many times they tried to kill Him. He even said He could call legion of angels to fight but because of you and I, He endured the cross and the shame of it. God the Father turned His back on JESUS and turned to us. He gave the cup of His wrath to Jesus who drank it all but He handed to us the cup of Salvation. The word of God says greater love had no man than this that a man should lay down His life for a friend. That same love is present for us today. It is greater, more tenacious and fastening than anything in the world. Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Nothing can separate us from His embrace (Love). It is greater than earthly blood ties. Above all it is for you and I. Do not neglect Jesus, the free gift of God. PRAISE AND GLORY TO GOD – AMEN
