GROW IN GRACE

I have the urge to post this again following the outcome of some of the arrests made during to August UK riots verifying the fact that many of those arrested have been involved with the criminal justice system prior to the riot. I clearly stated this in one of the August 2011 newsletter which was confirmed following the trials of those arrested during the riot.

Today is 10 August 2011. Over the past 3 days there have been riots all over the United Kingdom especially in cities. These stealing, killing and destructive fires are evil works of Satan and his cohorts. However I will rather look at what the Lord is doing. I believe that the Lord Himself is ready to light up the United Kingdom and indeed the British Isle with the life giving, peaceful restoring fire of the Holy Spirit in His Love and Mercy. Jesus said, the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy but He says I come to give LIFE and give it more abundantly. This is what God is doing through Christ Jesus in our generation.

John 10:10:

¹⁰The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Politicians are spitting fire but never say what exactly they are going to do. Those who perpetrate evil do so most times because they know they will get away with it. Some of those arrested may have done it often times. The police, probation, courts and prison even know them. Even the police cells are full. The politicians have not said exactly what they will do to prevent such recurrence. It happens in small pockets on a daily basis. People are menacing, threatening, killing and terrorising others on a daily basis. Gangs run our streets daily and it looks like they are getting away with it and nothing anyone can do but sometimes just hide in your homes. We all know that. The bigger picture we see are the tiny pockets happening daily in our streets. They have been getting away with such, but the current national outburst is just an opportunity to amplify what is already happening at the grass roots which have not been dealt with over the years.

The good thing is that suddenly the church is beginning to realise that we have a huge responsibility in this. There is clarion call everywhere for people to come and pray. However, I do not think this fire brigade approach is what God has called us to. As Christians, we are to passionately pray for the Government, all people, the nations on a daily basis. No special meetings or waiting for crisis but regularly and daily crying to God for the nation. God has given great responsibility to the Church to be in warfare not for our corners but the nation. This is our land. It is a choice. God wants us to pray for peace and healing in the land. When the whole land prospers, we will enjoy it, our children will enjoy it. Let this current crisis open our eyes to see that when the whole land suffers, even if it does not affect us directly it affects us indirectly. For instance, why pray for your family alone, why not pray for all families, all children, all youths knowing that they are our children, our youths etc. That can go for anything. For instance if you do not have a job, why not pray for jobs for all and when God answers, you will have a job, your children will have a job etc. The Bible says that the husbandman who is labouring will be the first partaker of the fruit. If you are barren, why not pray for all barren women.

2 Chronicles 7:14:

¹⁴If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (NOTE: GOD SAYS IT IS US WHO WILL TURN FROM OUR SELFISH WICKED WAYS of FIGHTING OUR CORNERS AND SEEK GOD FOR THE WHOLE LAND)

Jeremiah 29:7:

⁷And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. (Often we pray for our own captivity rather than the city or nation – There is the solution right here in this verse) Seek means daily yearning, your agenda that is what you desire most in your innermost heart. Seeking after our own captivity is so entrenched in the heart of saints now that it takes God’s grace to drive home this simple truth because of goody, goody soothing sermons)

Matthew 21:13

And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Isaiah 56:7

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

That the church is gathering to pray now is a very good thing but let us make this a wake up or clarion call to make this a regular SERIOUS agenda in the church away from our selfish frenzy to fight our corners which we call warfare.
As it is written My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations (all people). We are the house of God individually and corporately. When we take on God’s territorial agenda, He automatically releases the blessings on all of us. If a nation’s army is going to war, that nation is responsible for the victuals or needs of the army whether spiritual or otherwise including personal needs. Men and brethren, personal needs which God says are additions according to Mathew 6:33 (very clear and simple) are what we have pursued and prayed vigorously and passionately on for years and we continue to do so leaving God’s agenda. I have emphasised certain things in the Scripture below

Matthew 6

²⁴No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

²⁵Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? (Guess what? This is exactly what we do every day, every Sunday, every prayer meeting etc - taking thought of our lives)

³¹Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

³²(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (Automatic blessing as we seek God)

³³But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU. (We minister have not allowed this truth to sink into the body of Christ because of our goody soothing gospel we preach)

³⁴Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (In a nut shell seek God and His kingdom daily and leave all the hassle to God)

We may say we don’t do that but let us check our prayer lists. It is time for the full and true gospel of the Kingdom which is that God wants His peace and loving influence around us, those around us  and in the nations. We are heaven’s ambassadors to promote heaven’s agenda not ours. We must take our stand. The weapons of our warfare are not visible to the eyes but they are mighty through God. It is time to do away with personal selfish agenda. We cannot afford to sleep or keep our corners as watchmen when beasts are devouring the land. Wake up!!

Isaiah 56

⁹All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.

¹⁰His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

¹¹Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

¹²Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

No special meetings or waiting for crisis to pray for our nations but a regular passionate daily cries to God until we see a whole nation turn to Christ, this is why I believe our fervency God has given us by His grace especially immigrants is for the nations where we are now. We have PUSHED until something happened to us now it is time to PUSH until it happens to a nation and all people. Yes we can. We can do all things through Christ.
This year makes 400 years of the KJV version of the Bible from Hampton Court and it is prophetic like Biblical Egypt and I believe and feel the Lord is ready to speak to every spiritual pharaoh through the Church at such a time like this – “Let my people go that they may worship me”. United Kingdom was built on Christian principles. The Lord will bring the politicians to their knees until they realise that they have to open the doors to Christ again and the nation begin to return to the legacy of their fathers – THE WORD and CHRIST, which has been neglected for years. Even the anthem says it all. God will indeed save the Queen and all the people of this land, United Kingdom and the British Isles from any terror but we need to cry to the God of heaven.

We pray that the altars be brought back to the schools, prayers, the Bible, Godly assemblies etc to be restored so we can raise Godly youths who have the fear of God. We are not perfect but we can say that schools in which such Christian principles are practiced do well both morally and academically. I cannot speak for other faith because I do not have such competence.

We pray that the restoring life giving fire of the Holy Spirit sweep across the land in revival fire outbursts all over the nation to replace these stealing, killing and destructive strange fires Satan and his cohorts are lighting all over the land. This is our land. It is time the Church takes responsibility. Every place where the soles of our feet have treaded, God has given unto us to cherish, cover with prayer and enjoy in peace. This nation is our responsibility. Every day is a day of prayer for this nation and the government.
Let us pray, fast and speak good always for the land and according to 2 Chronicles 7:14, the Lord wants the land healed, not just our corners.
God bless you for setting aside time to pray for ALL people and the nation and let this be our eternal goal not just a crisis intervention plan – a nation or a people of God seeking God’s goodness and peace for all other nations of the world wherever we are. As a nation or people of God we already have Jesus who is the peace and goodness of God unto us and God’s delight and our desire is that other nations enjoy what we have.

GOD’S WAYS ARE HIGHER

Myth Busters.

We are new creatures in Christ Jesus. The old is gone, we were dead in sin but raised up by the power of God to a new life. However we sometimes walk with dual mentality and we are still looking at the attributes of God in Christ Jesus through the eyes of the world or society or our past experiences. What made the generation of Joshua different was that they concluded that “ye have not passed this way heretofore”.

Joshua 3:4:

⁴Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.

In other words, this is a completely new life. This new life is a life of the spirit. It is not based of the external because God does not look at the outward appearance but He deals with the heart. The Moses troop kept remembering the onions and cucumber of Egypt. Don’t mix the word of God with human analysis and philosophy or even sociology. I will give a few examples for now just to make you understand. Mercy, Forgiveness and Justice.

1. FORGIVENESS AND LOVE. The world sees forgiveness sometimes as kiss and make up. That is the way the world and society confirm that someone has forgiven. Far from it. God says His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts than our thoughts. Forgiveness is not evidenced by external works like kiss and make up because God does not look at the face or external but He looks at the heart, the spirit. Forgiveness has nothing to do with your feelings or emotions but it is release by faith through the word of God. Forgiveness belongs to God which He has given us in our hearts to share with others.

2. MERCY: Mercy is bigger and more forceful than anything on earth. It is not the beggarly please pardon me of the world or “I pardon you” type of earthly mercy or I overlook your flaws. Contrarily, God does not pardon or overlook our sins or faults or flaws. No! Indeed He was furious and angry about them. The bible calls this the WRATH of God. Rather He poured all this anger and wrath on His Son Jesus and put our punishments on Him. It was a substitution act of mercy. He then poured His love, kindness, favour and riches on us freely so we can be all God planned for us originally. Yes, it is mercy that makes the moon sun and stars to be in place and to shine. It is a sure mercy. Man can pardon you tomorrow and change his mind when things do not go his or her way but God does not change. God says it is because He does not change hence we are not consumed. It is a permanent transplant or grafting. It overrides any kind of judgement you want to bring.

Lamentations 3:22:

²²It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Malachi 3:6:

⁶For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

3. JUSTICE/JUDGEMENT: In the same way justice is not people who do wrong getting what they deserve eg bad or jail or demotion or rejection etc. It is not about people who do well or good getting what they deserve eg good, blessings, favour etc. If we look at justice that way then all of us will go to hell because none of us deserve heaven apart from Jesus Christ’s blood of redemption. Justice, judgement and mercy go hand in hand. We judge the sin, error, the habit or the flaws but never the soul. We are to always love a soul of any man as the Lord loves them. Leave the rest to God. I have learnt that I can be transformed but I cannot transform any person, only God by His Spirit can. If some does bad to you, judge the bad and not the person so that you do not wrestle against flesh and blood but pray against that spirit but for the person. So there is no one that I hate, I love all to bits both in the church and unbelievers. I pray for ALL men and ALL saints. Why? It is because it is not about us and what we did or did not do but it is all about what Jesus did for us. So eventually God gets all the glory. What we do in the Kingdom of God or for one another in the Church should be motivated by what Jesus did for us in love. Jesus said you should forgive that person because your master forgave you much. That is justice. God judges our sin ad our wrong ways so He can save our souls from the wrong ways.

4. PREACHING THE CROSS AND CHRIST: The preaching of the cross is foolishness to non-Christians but it is the power of God to the True believer in Christ. To the Christian who do not walk according to Christ but according to law, the preaching of the Cross of Christ is a stumbling block (ie Stone of stumbling or the law). Why? It is because at the cross everyone is at par, equal and there is no difference. However men always want to create hierarchy by what they do or have achieved including spiritual achievement, or have experienced eg academics, gifts, post, position but all that is zero at the cross. The one that stands at the pulpit and the person at the control deck or doing the slide are equally as important and are the same in Christ or at the foot of the cross but God put us in place so we can function as a body. Indeed God say He honours those parts that are not often seen in the open just like out private parts.

5. Destiny: Just because we are in the same boat does not mean we have the same destiny. Jesus said 2 shall be grinding and one shall be taken or closer still, 2 shall be in a bed and one shall be taken. This means that everyone must take their personal walk with the Lord most seriously before the corporate walk. When we take our personal walk with the Lord seriously, then we can help the body corporately.

THE UNFORCED RHYTHMS OF GRACE

Over time we have been made to understand that when Jesus said in Matthew 11 vs 12 that the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violence takes it by force, that it means we as Christians or human beings should go into a frenzy of violence in the spirit and take things by force either from the devil or from heaven.

Matthew 11 vs 12

¹²And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Now know that the scripture is not of any private interpretation but it is there so that we can know and understand the God we serve. Don’t run away with hear say, go search the scripture yourself no matter who preaches it if not you cannot enter the rest of God. You cannot beat the devil and enter rest for yourself by the Jesus who Paul or any other man of God preaches. Far from it. It is the truth that you know from spending time in the presence of the Lord that will make you free. You may get some fringe benefits by the preaching of others to give you temporary relief by the mercies of God but what the Lord really want is that we all as His children seek Him and know Him personally first then our corporate fellowship will become complementary thereby strengthening one another. Due to the incomplete, selfish microwave goody goody prosperity gospel we preach, for years we have equated this scripture to taking what God has given us by force, so only those who go into frenzy and are forceful in the spirit obtain. For us to really grasp what the Lord says in His word by His Spirit, we have to read the scripture in context and not just that but take a long pause and meditate on them. The Lord says meditate on these things and the Lord will give you insight. Don’t just run away with a scripture because it will get you what you want but rather meditate on it so it can give you what God wants most for His people – REST!!  Jesus says things so that we can relate them to God and the Christ of God and His work of redemption. To really grasp what Jesus is saying we must read that Matthew chapter 11 from vs 1 to the end and put everything in context. First this conversation started from a question posed by John who did something in Israel no one has ever done, preparing the way for Christ and identifying Christ to the whole world by the Holy Ghost. Indeed, Jesus highly esteemed John as one of the greatest prophet ever born of a woman but that the least in the kingdom is greater. Why? Because we that have enter the Kingdom of God (KOG) are born of the Spirit. Before Jesus no one could be born again.

Matthew 11:11:

¹¹Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

However, when John went into crisis he went into frenzy like we often do today when we run into trouble questioning God and doubting Him every way the devil brings to our minds, then going into frenzy with the devil and sometimes with the Lord in what we call violent warfare or taking it by force. We forget the bigger picture and purpose. I see the Lord smiling at us but gives us what we ask in our unnecessary religious desperado out of His mercy overlooking our ignorance. Now let us burst this myth and mystery once and for all so we can break free and enter rest starting from John’s doubting question.

John’s question:

Matthew 11:2-3:

²Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

³And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

Did you see that question? Just before John was in prison, he baptised Jesus, and declared Him to Israel and the world as the Messiah that we have been waiting for. Not only that, now he heard “THE WORKS OF CHRIST” and he was still questioning in that manner “art Thou HE”? That is exactly how the devil questions our heavenly identity as He did to Jesus “if you are the Son of God” after God has just declared Him as “My Beloved Son”. Now let us see what Jesus answered.

The Lord’s answer:

Matthew 11

⁴Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

⁵The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

⁶And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Jesus is literally saying, I am He. All the stuff that were said in the prophet and the law are now happening just as it was written or spoken of me. Jesus told John’s disciple, though he has heard of my works before he sent you to ask this daft question, go and tell him again. Look at vs 6 above. Jesus is saying that John asked this question because He was offended. He was in prison waiting to be beheaded and the “so called Messiah that I identified” is having a party out there. If He is really the Messiah that has been spoken of in the scripture who is supposed to bring freedom to us, why is he letting me languish in prison when He can send a legion of angels to free me. Note that John did not ask the Lord for anything eg Lord deliver me or let your will be done Messiah. No! He was questioning the very identity of Jesus. He was doubting Jesus. We all do that in our frenzy we call prayers and spiritual warfare and we think we have become very spiritual – the prayer warriors or other such labels. Jesus was affirming that those things that were spoken of me are happening. I am the one. Chill, have faith in me, take your rest in me. I have taken over and I am now doing the works. In the same way God is at work in us and on the earth today and rather than work for Him, or work with Him or better still let Him work through you! Chill, rest in Him. He is the warrior, a God of war, mighty in battle. He is the conqueror, we are more than conqueror because we are benefactors. We are doing greater work than John and even Jesus because the Lord is doing the greatest miracle through us today which is salvation of souls. He could not do it because He has not died for souls then and John could not do it. We are the heirs of salvation, our inheritance which we can now share by the Spirit of God to the world. God’s plan for each of us will come to pass. Wait on Him.

After this Jesus begin to honour John and really extol him. God highly honours His people today especially those taking the gospel to the world, but when the rubber meets the road and trouble strike, you will realise from their moans and murmuring and complaining that they have not enter the true rest of God’s Grace – the place to be. Pastor Dele Olusina used to tell us that prayer is prepared role as you enter REST and it is only now that it begins to make sense.

Now let us examine the very scripture that have taken the battle from God’s hand and made it our violent battle for years amongst the Christian either still fighting for their freedom or their blessing or any such things  which Jesus has freely obtained for us by His victory in the blood, crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection according to Romans 8:32. Now we are just to occupy as the glory of God transforms us from one level of glory to another level. At each level of glory, the Lord will open certain doors and things that accompany salvation will begin to unfold in guided discovery. Now it is about transformation rather than acquisition.

Matthew 11:12-14:

¹²And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

¹³For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

¹⁴And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

“Jesus said from the days of JB until now” the Kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force. I believe that Jesus is saying the KOG is now here. Heaven has come to earth by Jesus Christ. Hereafter, the stuff that I am doing now is a glimpse of what will happen hereafter. Jesus says the reason in vs 13. The Law and the prophet prophesied until John that the Messiah or king is coming. Now Messiah is here, the King is here. These are the era or a time of the fulfilment of prophesies on earth. The womb of heaven is now open by the first born. Now many are going to be born from heaven’s womb. Many will be born again and I am showing you a taste of the stuff that will be happening from now on. Now I am taking over and establishing the way of Grace. The Jews understand the concept of the Messiah hence it is not a problem for them. I believe that is why Peter, James, Jude etc writing mainly from Jerusalem did not write too much, but for the Gentiles, we have to learn by revelation and so we write much as the Lord reveals things to our understanding. Some of us gentiles and some Christians did not have any religious background. For instance, my mother was an idol worshipper and that is what I was exposed to. So what I have in the Lord, I got by revelation. Nothing passed on from family or parent. All Israel have been waiting for the Messiah. They know what will happen when Messiah comes. Only some of them do not believe that Messiah has come. The Gentiles on the other hand have no clue, so most of what we get is by revelation. There are certain things that will accompany the revelation of the Messiah. That is what Jesus was trying to explain to John, that the Kingdom has come – people are being healed, blind eyes are seeing etc. He is saying to John, you don’t need to struggle any more. Just believe. He is saying to John that he ought to know these things. John is the forerunner to the KOG. He announced it. The KOG is here or at hand, Jesus is here. Now rest in that truth. Don’t labour any more or be laden with guilt, shame or condemnation anymore. Praise God! I asked the Lord about this for a while. How can heaven suffer violence when Satan is no more there. Then I saw the answer in the Message Bible as a subtitle – The unforced rhythm of Grace. Wow!! Now that is the gospel. He did not say the earth suffers violence but He said the Kingdom of God. There is no violence in heaven but peace! Satan has been kicked out. I have been asking the Lord about this, now the answer is clear from a simple sub heading in the Message Bible – unforced rhythm of Grace!!! Many have tried to force their way into heaven and to get heaven’s blessings and they are still doing today by how much they pray, what they tithe, how many animals they sacrifice, keeping the law, how much they fast, their gifts, posts, position, achievements, what they do etc. We do not need to force our way anymore. The unforced rhythms of Grace has come through Jesus Christ to supply all we need to be who He wants us to be in Him by the workings of the Holy Spirit in us. Not by might, nor by power but by MY SPIRIT saith the Lord.

Concluding:

Now let us see what the Spirit is saying. From now on, I am here, I have taken over, learn from me so that you can enter rest and let the unforced rhythm of Grace begin to work in you. How can you keep quiet with such goodness from the Lord? How will you not open your mouth and worship Him? How will you not preach Him? Paul says woe is me if I do not preach the gospel. He saw the Grace of God and His goodness rip apart His violent past even against Christ’s Children. The guilt, shame, terror and pain of it all must have been too much for him until He received the unconditional love, mercy and grace of God. Now as Jesus said “if ye will receive it” you will be totally free in your inner self and boldness and confidence to preach the gospel will come in season and out of season, when it is good and when it is bad, when you are down and when you are up. Note that all these are relative depending on your focus. If your focus is Jesus then you will count it ALL JOY but even if you can’t receive that know that you are free and go preach as the Holy Spirit leads you.

Jesus will usually say, you have heard that it was said unto you …….. “but I say unto you”. What I am saying is that you should seek the Lord for yourself. Listen to men as they preach but take time to meet with the Lord yourself and Let the Holy Spirit teach you because God has unique plans for all of us and our paths may be different but as you seek Him, He will direct you into your destiny in Him even in your hard places.  Now I have put the concluding scripture in the Message Bible version for clarity and understanding and the gentle non-violent unforced rhythm of Grace in a New Life which has come through Jesus the hope of glory in you.

^{25 -26}Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer: “Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth. You’ve concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people. Yes, Father, that’s the way you like to work.”

²⁷Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly. “The Father has given me all these things to do and say. This is a unique Father-Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge. No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does. But I’m not keeping it to myself; I’m ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen.

^{28 -30}“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

INCORRUPTIBLE SEED OF THE WORD

Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Since the time God pronounced in the Garden of Eden that the seed of the woman will bruise the head of the serpent, the devil has tried to corrupt the seed. Though Satan knew that the Messiah is coming as part of the plan of God, he did not know how the Lord will bring it to pass. So he fights tooth and nail and he fights dirty. The same thing he tries to do with us. As Peter said, do not be afraid concerning the fiery trials. Any major sin you can think of in the whole earth, Satan used it to try to ensure that the promise of the Lord is not fulfilled. Sin and atrocities like murder, genocide, adultery, incest, polygamy, prostitution, sibling rivalry, slavery, captivity, rebellion, jealousy, pride, disobedience, selfishness etc. Name it. No wonder the Bible says that Jesus was tempted in all things but He prevailed for us. Satan killed all the children in a generation just to destroy the seed. However the Lord has spoken it. We are born again of the same incorruptible seed of the word of God and that is our saving Grace. The seed lived. All the stories from Genesis to the time of Jesus were not fairy tales. It is the manifold plan of the enemy to crush the seed and annihilate it.

Romans 9:29:

²⁹And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

According to Genesis 19:30-38 the generation of the Moabites was Lot by incest with his oldest daughter. She and her sister, having no men around save their father and their mother being consumed in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, decided to continue their father’s line through intercourse with their father. The elder got Lot drunk to facilitate the incest and conceived Moab. The younger daughter did the same and conceived a son named Ben-Ammi, who became ancestor to the Ammonite. Satan tried to corrupt the seed. Moab means corrupt seed. Eventually, Jesus came from the lineage of Ruth a Moabite. No matter what God’s Covenant must stand. We can only overcome the devil by our Covenant promise, the oath of God. We can talk of David and adultery, murder, feigning mental illness or epilepsy, Solomon and his many wives, Rehab and her lifestyle and all the captivities of Israel just to mention a few. We cannot outsmart the devil by our own doing if we really want God’s ultimate purpose. I do not mean feel good factor and earthly stuff. It is by the Spirit of the Lord that the seed prevailed. We can rest in the truth that we are born of the incorruptible seed of the word of God and no matter what the devil brings the eternal promise, the promise of all promises (not promises) is sure unto us. Many of the afflictions that we go through is an onslaught against the seed of greatness in us, the seed of of the word of God. Satan is so furious about this that he can sometimes afflict the seed beyond recognition. Jesus said persecution comes because of the word that is in you. However, we will prevail eventually and the glory will be revealed out of the cocoon like the beautiful butterfly that comes out of an ugly cocoon.

1 Peter 1:23:

²³Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

That word lives and abides in us forever. Praise God.

GOD HAS A PLAN, NOT YOURS – PETER AND JOHN SCENARIO

GROW IN GRACE

Peter was the one that always opened his mouth wide and wanted to try everything even walk on water. John was the one so close to Jesus always sleeping on the bosom of Jesus. However, you would think that Jesus will ask John to take care for the flock but He rather asked Peter. Peter was concerned by this when he asked Jesus what will be of John but Jesus answered Him in a nutshell saying, you do not worry what I am doing with John but you follow me and leave John to me. I am sure Peter may have been wondering – why me? I am just a loud mouth put your foot in it kind of guy. John is the best, He is the one so close to God resting on His bosom. However God has plans for each of us even the wicked (the devil, we do not wrestle flesh and blood) and we should look at ourselves as complementary. Everyone’s task is different. What a myth buster. God does not look at the externals, He looks at the heart and works there to influence our whole being. This reminds us of Mary and Martha. Martha did not focus on her own task but poked at Mary sitting at Jesus feet. We are not to compare ourselves by ourselves but focus on Jesus. Actually both Peter and John were following Jesus at the time when Peter asked “what will this man do”. Now we get the picture. Lord if you are asking me to feed your flock what about John who we know show affection to you publicly and you also do the same to him? Jesus said follow thou me. Peter looked back and saw the external including John following. Praise God! We need to walk that way following Jesus and leave Him to do what He wants with others. Look at John 21:23 which is still happening today. People will do private interpretation of the Scripture, even the parts that are very clear because their mind set has been like that for years. However Jesus will say, you have heard that it was said …… and He will conclude but I say unto YOU! By Chinese whisper, the message Jesus spoke to Peter was diluted people saying what Jesus did not say possibly because their earthly experience and tradition has coloured some of the Scriptures because that is what they have heard from others all their lives instead of taking time with Jesus so He can speak afresh to them with such Scriptures. Just a few myth busters as examples. One popular one is that Jesus sweated blood at Gethsemane. The Bible did not say that. The Bible says that His sweat was LIKE drops of blood. Some great ministers have even gone as far as saying that Doctors have explained how that can happen scientifically, that if you are in so much agony, that the capillaries burst. While this may be so, the Scripture did not say that Jesus was sweating blood.  If you are in the tropics and you go to farm, there are times when your sweat become like little beads and can drop to the floor just as blood drops during transfusion. I use this example so that you can be inspired to read the word yourself. A second example is tithings which some people hold unto as the ultimate for blessing but will not take time to read the new dispensation in Hebrews 7 that says it is unprofitable to walk in such laws. Jesus does not call us goats, we are sheep to follow the master Jesus. Go search out the way of the master for yourself and follow it.  Other myth busters include, the road is tough, songs like nobody told me the road won’t be easy and many craps that men have brought in from their soul emotions. This makes some us to walk with our heads down singing “nobody knows the troubles I face”. Every man as long as we are on earth will face one trouble or the other. Jesus said it will be so but when you build upon Jesus, by the time the storm is over (Yes, the storm automatically will cease naturally) you will still be standing. So we need to check ourselves if we are following Jesus or man or ourselves. The last time I read Matthew 11:28, Jesus was still saying learn from me, My yoke is easy, My burden is light. Yes there are issue, problems and circumstances, but Jesus said cast them upon me. I am the one who carried them for you on the cross. So take your cross daily to remind you of Jesus, that He carried it. So give Him those battles and burdens and cares and worries because believe me that they will be many, but Jesus says though these circumstances abound, be of good cheers, I have overcome for you – Wow. Follow Jesus only. I believe God today as you read that you will start walking with your head high rejoicing and counting it all joy because your master Jesus has planned and promised good to you and His promises never fail, more so He is EMMANUEL – ever present, never leaving, never forsaking, never excludes you, never against you but working all things for good to manifest at His planned time to the glory of His name. Don’t follow myths – Read and meditate on the Scripture and know God the Father and Jesus for yourself while striving to be a blessing to others.  Please Give your life to Christ and follow Him if you have not done so.

John 21

¹⁷He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

¹⁸Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdest thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

¹⁹This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

²⁰Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

²²Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

²⁴This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

²⁵And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Luke 22:44:

⁴⁴And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was AS IT WERE GREAT DROPS of blood falling down to the ground. (As it were means as if it were or like, I am sure other translation will put more simply)

Matthew 11

²⁸Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

²⁹Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

³⁰For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John 16

³³These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
