GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES – 8

PARABLES – GRACE AND GLORY IN THE PARABLE OF THE LOST SHEEP AND COIN.

GROW IN GRACE

From Sam-Best Ewruje, by the Grace of the Almighty God an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be multiplied unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

Remember in the beginning of this series called Grace and Glory in parables, we saw that parables are not meant to be doctrines of how to live the Christian life or faith because according to Jesus, they were not supposed to be understood or fathomed by the target audience. The reason is that there are those who really want to know the Lord with the motive of serving Him better, while others like the Pharisees and the Scribes come to His teaching or ask questions to deride, or mock, or disprove His messages. So when Jesus answers or speaks to them He gives them a message that their ordinary minds cannot grasp or understand. Jesus does so just to let them know that His thoughts and ways are higher. The Pharisees, scribes and Lawyers of His days were the interpreters of the Scripture and they usually do this for their own selfish gain or to profess their self righteousness. However the Scripture is not of private interpretation but for declaration as the Lord gives us revelation by His Spirit. So you do not have to prove anything to anyone. Now let us look at the parable of the lost sheep and coin in Luke 15.

There were 2 categories of people in this parable. The publicans and sinners who genuinely came to hear Him or better still Jesus went to look for them. Then there were the Pharisees and the Scribes who came not only to mock and deride Him but to murmur and rebuke Him for going to be with and eating with sinners. This usually excites the Lord and He then goes on a winding story of the lost sheep then the coin and eventually the prodigal son. Check it out yourself. The story Jesus told is very practical and true. When your coin falls you leave the others and pick it up. However, what we should see is the Grace of God in this parable which is to do with the intensity, commitment and tenacity to go after the lost sheep or coin. He leaves the 99, goes after the lost sheep UNTIL He finds it. The woman losing one coin out of ten, lights a candle, and sweeps the house, and seek diligently UNTIL she finds it yet she still has 9 coins in her purse.

However Everything the Lord asks us to do today have been turned outside in. Excuse my terminology of outside in. Jesus said we should be like Him. He yearns and chases after the lost. He said He came to seek and to save the lost. What we do today is that people get saved, and we begin to teach them so they can grow and mature which is very good. However we keep teaching, polishing and feeding them until they become legalists fighting their own corners often in frenzy. They continue to feed and later develop SPIRITUAL OBESITY. Just like a physically obese person, they cannot move anymore and run after the lost. They become sons of the soil, doing the same things over and over again. There is no tenacity or commitment to go after the lost and when they do it is so lethargic that after 2 trials they give up on that soul and come up with their own theories of the people in that land eg “they don’t want to hear the gospel” or “these people are not ready” and all such comments. The joy and excitement of evangelism or witnessing has gone out of the window while our selfish endeavours and desires keep piling up and clogging our hearts and minds. All these teachings and polishing or grooming are good but the purpose has been lost. The main purpose is for the work of the ministry, teaching them and unleashing them to go out and preach the gospel to all. That is exactly what Jesus did. He trained the disciples for just 3 years only and unleashed them to be witnesses despite their individual short comings. As long as we are alive we can never know the Lord fully indeed what we know is just a glimpse.  Let us take a leaf from the Jehovah’s witnesses. They just keep coming the more you chase them away. They are not bothered whether you come to their 4 walls. What we have been doing is to keep going after the 99 sheep or 9 coins and keep polishing them for years same old, same old and they are not exercising their spirit by going out there to be witnesses unto Christ. Kingdom principle is quite different from our imagination. Man thinks that you get by acquiring and getting and accumulating but we are filled by giving out. We need to empty ourselves to be filled.

It is not too late. We can start now. Join us. We are UK of Christ Witnesses. Send your name and contact and we will contact you. We are not talking about Bible bashing but having a heart, boldness and commitment to be a witness and the Lord will give you the opportunities and open the door. Do not fret about your weaknesses because you are not preaching yourself but the Christ who gave Himself for humanity. Arise!! You do not have to leave your location, denomination or church but just a commitment to reach out to the lost tenaciously right where you are. Take the church from the 4 walls to the community. That is what Jesus and the disciples did. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. Check the definition of seek. The outcome of it is that you find the lost. They are out there not among the 99 or the 9.

Luke 15

1Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

2And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

3And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

4What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

5And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

8Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

9And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

10Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES 7 – PRODIGAL RETURNS REVIVAL

PARABLES – THE PRODIGAL RETURN AND REVIVAL- GRACE AND GLORY IN THE PARABLE OF THE PRODIGAL SON

Now that we have seen the Grace and the Glory of god manifested in parables of the sower and the seed, let us now look at a very important part of REVIVAL in the context of the returning prodigals. These are the people that are looked upon as rebellious, stubborn, squanderers, spenders and working hard yet making little progress. They are out of fellowship. Some return but can’t enter and be restored because they have senior brothers who want to humiliate them. They have legalistic senior brothers who have been sons of the soil or have been established. These senior brothers put these returning prodigals on the bench, give them some lessons, and do restoration programme either to restore them to fellowship or even make them eat more humble pies than the pig sty they have already been through. Today Mr Prodigal as you read this parable, you will be set free forever. Were you a prodigal trying to return “home”. Please I implore you kindly return HOME, but do not return to your senior brother first, but RETURN TO THE FATHER who loves you unconditionally. I assure you, there is celebration, revival, restoration, authority waiting for you with the Father.

There is something about the prodigal sons and that is the extravagant Grace of God. Please theologians, take off your legalistic and punitive hats. The prodigals have been through serious issues. They have been at Lodebar like Mephibosheth. They have been used and abused sometimes by unbelievers and more so believers. They have been through the mill. They have spent and have been spent. They have been through pains and sorrows. The Lord has dealt with them deep in their hearts through His mercy and love therapy. So pack up your 10 steps and 10 ways restoration programme. Then suddenly they come to their senses and remember the Heavenly Father who has loved them unconditionally. Then they return in their hearts to the Father. Guess what the Father not only embraces the prodigal smelling of pigs’ mud, but He orders for Him to be robed, given a signet ring and calls for a revival. Wow!! The Father to the chagrin of the senior fellows throws a party. Not just ordinary party, this was a big party with fatted cow noised abroad to the hearing of the region. You could hear the blaring of music from far. Now this party is not being organised by the senior brethren but the servants of the Father in our case the angels. It is supernatural. This prodigal none entity has come to the Father who has been waiting for him with His unconditional love. Listen, Revival happens always when a prodigal repents and returns. Why? Wikipedia defines the word ‘prodigal’ as ‘wastefully extravagant’. That is exactly why the Lord told this parable. It is because the Pharisees and the Scribes, the legalists of the time  murmured because Jesus was eating with sinners. So Jesus told them a winding story that they can never understand with the human mind starting with the lost sheep and the lost coin and ended up with the parable of the prodigal son. He was letting them know that His ways and thoughts are higher than ours.

Now let us look at the senior brethren. They can’t stimulate revival because they are so regimented, same old same old. They believe in conformity rather than transformation. They have the programs, the seminars of how to get this and that. The prodigal son on the other hand has learned to abound and abase, he has learned to live with little, to survive in hardship when people were around and when people were not, in the midst of men and on his own in the wild. He has been through many dangers and toil. His heart has been torn many times and mended in several places. His coats of many colours have become rags but he holds the spiritual remnant. He has been moulded and panel beaten beyond recognition. He had dodged scorpion, serpents and wild oxen. Wow! What a credential for revival. He had only one thing going for Him, the Fathers love. He came home repentant, remorseful, feeling unworthy, low self esteem and ready to eat humble pie, but the Father because of His unconditional love is having none of that. Mr Prodigal, please come home to the Father. He has more room in His heart for you than you can imagine. He will organise a revival. If men and senior brothers do not want it, He will get His servants to throw a revival. That senior brother wanted to send him again to the fields but the Father had another agenda – REVIVAL. If we follow the senior brothers legalism and philosophy, I am not even worthy of writing these Grace to you.

Luke 15

1Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

2And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

10Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

11And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES 6

PARABLES - GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLE OF THE SOWER – 6

GROW IN GRACE

From Sam-Best Ewruje, by the Grace of the Almighty God an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Peace, Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be multiplied unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

Please kindly read this in conjunction with series 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 – GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES. We have started with the parable of the sower which the Lord says is the key or door to all parables. As stated previously the SOWER is the Lord and He will continue to sow until the word becomes fruitful in your lives. I did say that most of us who are now Christians were like that until we heard the word so much that we became born again. Now we are to be vessels for the Sower to sow the word to others so many can be saved. Notice that even if the seed is as small as a mustard seed, the word of God says says WHEN it is sown, not IF it is sown. The Sower, the Lord will ensure that the seed is sown. When you believe the Grace of God in Christ Jesus, you enter REST and leave it to the Lord. Jesus said My Father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the work. So it is the person that does the work God, the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus that gets the praise or worship not the one benefiting from it like us. This makes you to automatically become a worshipper of God daily for what He has done, what He is doing and what He will do. Makes you less selfish and more Christ like.

Now we will take it to another level by looking at the remaining part of the parable of the sower and you will see why Jesus holds this parable as important. If you get the parable of the seed you will enter God’s REST!! This is very essential because believers receive the word, the devil comes to challenge our 5 senses with storms, winds and circumstances and we go into this frenzy some call warfare today. You will see later in this series and in Mark 4 that the disciples did exactly that when Jesus spoke the word and told them to go over to the other side”. Jesus said persecutions or troubles come because of the word that He speaks to us or sows in our hearts.

Now let us look at the disciples. Jesus said let us go to the other side and went to sleep in the same boat in the same storm. Now the storm became boisterous. The disciples went into dangerous prayer mode we call warfare. They said how come Lord you are sleeping. They hailed Him as Lord as we do today. They hailed Him as Master but they said do you not care. They saw with their eyes and felt as if they were perishing, but Jesus was sleeping. This was not the resurrected Jesus, He was operating as Man dependent on God’s Spirit. He asked them, why are you so fearful? You may have seen them as being concerned about their situation but the Lord said they had no faith. Please understand that it is not because the storm ceased that they went over to the other side. Note that some of them were fishermen. They must have faced storm at some points in their lives and they had gone through. They knew that sea storms do not last forever. They knew the sea will be calm again. So what is the issue here. It is the Word!  However this storm was more than the usual because of the word Jesus has spoken. It made them want to doubt the Lord. They went to wake Him up and went into a frenzy of warfare. Lord you said we were going over to the other side. Look now there is a storm which is more than what we used to experience as fishermen. Lord we perish instead of going over.

Even after the wind ceased they feared the more. That is exactly what these frenzy prayers do. Once the Lord intervened in one, another battle begins, you go into another frenzy and you only end up winning battles but not the war. So you never enter rest of God. You become a freedom fighter rather than walking in your freedom that Jesus bought for you. The Good news is that Jesus has paid the price. He cares for you always, storm or no storm. Not only that, He is there to make sure you make it through to the other side. At whatever level of glory you are He is with you ready to move you to the next level when He is through with you at the level you are now. Operate with Him fully at the level you are now while you are being prepared by His Spirit to the next level. The funny thing is that while even the elements trusted and obeyed Him and they were still at His command, the disciples could not trust and obey Him that they would get over to the other side. The same happens to us today. We go into this frenzy we call warfare which are in themselves subtle unbelief and settling for the devil’s popular question “if you are a son of God why is this happening, why don’t you command etc”. There is time for everything to fulfil God’s purpose on earth but not to doubtful disputation as written in the word of God.

Mark 4

35And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES 5

PARABLES - GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLE OF THE SOWER – 5

GROW IN GRACE

From Sam-Best Ewruje, by the Grace of the Almighty God an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be multiplied unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

Please kindly read this in conjunction with series 1, 2, 3 and 4 – GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES. We have started with the parable of the sower which the Lord says is the key or door to all parables. As stated previously the SOWER is the Lord and He will continue to sow until the word becomes fruitful in your lives. I did say that most of us who are now Christians were like that until we heard the word so much that we became born again. Now we will take it to another level by looking at the remaining part of the parable of the sower and you will see why Jesus holds this parable as important. If you get the parable of the seed you will enter God’s REST!! Now the Lord continues this important parable for those who think they are just babes in Christ, or do not have much of the word etc. However Jesus is trying to let you know that the size is not the issue. Even if what you have is little the Lord says it will grow. This is great Grace in action. What you have may be small but God’s Grace in His word is bigger. In the Kingdom what you have is not the issue but what you do with what you have. You do not have to play like or sing like Elvis Presley or Adele but you must use the talent that you have and more will be given until it blesses multitude. When the word is growing, people may not notice it. You may not even notice or know it. You may still have your struggles and your external circumstances do not seem to tally initially. People may see you and be saying where is your God!! The word of God says we do not look at the things that are seen. God says the Kingdom of God does not come by observation, it is within you. No one may reckon with you for a while but believe that the word is growing with or without your efforts because the Lord who sowed it says it is. Eventually the glory of it will explode and affect others. Notice that it says WHEN it is sown, not IF it is sown. The Sower, the Lord will ensure that the seed is sown. When you believe the Grace of God in Christ Jesus, you enter REST and leave it to the Lord. Jesus said My Father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the work. So it is the person that does the work that gets the praise or worship not the one benefiting from it.

Mark 4

30And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

32But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES – 4

PARABLES - GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLE OF THE SOWER – 4

GROW IN GRACE

From Sam-Best Ewruje, by the Grace of the Almighty God an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be multiplied unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

Please kindly read this in conjunction with series 1, 2 and 3 – GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES.

Now we will take it to another level by looking at the remaining part of the parable of the sower and you will see why Jesus holds this parable as paramount. If you get the parable you will enter God’s REST!! Jesus continued with more parables of the seed. It is about a man casting seed into the ground and then going to sleep and rise night and day without worrying about the seed or uprooting it to see if it is growing. This is where believers need to believe and rest in the word of God. The way we use the scriptures today seems like we are the one working the word of God. Far from it. What this parable is telling believers today is to go to sleep or REST!! As the sower, the Lord sows the word in your heart everyday and as you meditate, it is not what you do or do not that make the word of God effective. The word has inherent ability to produce by itself once it is sown. Keep receiving the word and eventually it will yield fruit. God has assured us that His word will not return void.

This is very essential because believers receive the word, the devil comes to challenge our 5 senses with storms, winds and circumstances and we go into this frenzy some call warfare today. You will see later in this series and in Mark 4 that the disciples did exactly that when Jesus spoke the word “let us go over to the other side”. They went into a frenzy. “Lord if you are there why is this and this happening or “Lord we perish”. That is not what Jesus said. He said let us go over to the other side. Jesus said persecutions or troubles come because of the word that He speaks to us or sows in our hearts. Please grasp this very well. Once you are keen on the word, troubles will come to get you to doubt the word of God. Jesus on the other hand went to sleep in the same boat according to His parable because He has spoken the word “let us go over”.

The lesson from the parable of seed in this is that as you listen to the Lord teaching and sowing the word in your heart, trust Him that His word is quick and powerful and more than enough to bring fruit. Jesus says that the fruit will come gradually and not in a day or season or any time limit as most of us think. So you do not need to go into a frenzy we call warfare or dangerous prayers every day being distracted from the Lord’s eternal work in your heart. People may not see it, you may not even notice it but the word is WORKING IN YOU – BELIEVE IT. Rest at the level of the part of the fruit that the words has produced in you now and believe that the rest of the fruit will manifest until it becomes a FULL CORN – Halleluya!! Then when the harvest comes all will see it.  As Jesus said if you do not understand this parable how will you understand any other parables. You cannot enter the REST of God unless you understand this parable of the seed, the sower and the recipient of the seed. You will always be fretful, going into frenzy every day like a default computer mode and all your life instead of thanking God for where you are now and believing for the promised fullness as you fellowship in His word. Look at the apostles prayers. None of these my this, me, my that and my those. They prayed for God’s will, they prayed for nations, others and their neighbours even when they were afflicted.

Some may say what of the time Satan delayed Daniels prayer! Well God Himself sent reinforcement from heaven. This is the main thing. The Bible says when the Old Testament is read today, there is still a veil over people’s eyes. In the name of Jesus I destroy that veil from your eyes today as you read and you will receive the Grace of God in Christ Jesus. We have to ask for grace to be able ministers of the NT. This New Testament is the Gospel of God concerning His Son not you. We have to be separated to this Gospel of God. Not what you did or did not do rather about what He did for all humanity. You can now enjoy some of these privileges not earned them by any means eg praying 5 times a day, giving money, tithing, fasting, praising etc. These are what you do by virtue of who you are as a child of God not as means to an end. These things keep you in contact with your Father in Heaven by the Holy Ghost. Believe, rest in the Lord as He speaks to you in His words and you will see the FULL Corn because the Lord has spoken it.

Mark 4

26And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

Isaiah 55

8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

GO TELL EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, EVERYDAY

TELLING FORTH THE GOSPEL OF THE EASTER JESUS CHRIST EVERYDAY

GROW IN GRACE

From Sam-Best Ewruje, an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

There is something about the telling or preaching the gospel that astound all. It is not about us so that when the Lord commissions, He does not look at our weaknesses because He wants us to be witnesses that these feeble unlikely men can have something that can change the world. However, in our generation, we do not put this to use because we want to be strong, grow etc and eventually we out grow ourselves from the basics. One thing I notice is that whenever I preach the gospel and lives are touched, it satisfies me and I forget my own problems and begin to take on their fights and pray for them. Most times, we are more concerned with our own flaws and the devil has a thousand reasons especially fear or embarrassment why you are not fit to minister if you let him. Some will say you call yourself a pastor or this or that. That is exactly the point. I do not want anyone to emulate me after any other thing than the Grace, Mercy and Love of Christ so that whatever happens, people will know that I am an unlikely candidate for it so that they can be pointed to God and His Christ rather than anything that I am worth eg fame, money, education, good works, or any fleshly affiliations. Those things are good and I like them but I will rather be known after Christ.

2 Corinthians 5

16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

It is the personal flaws of our lives (and they are many) that prevent people from telling about Christ. They think they are not fit or qualified and even many men including well meaning Christians will tell them so. I have good news for you. Remember the woman at the well. She was a serial divorcee, 5 husbands and living with a partner at the time Jesus met her. Please put on your judgemental hats but you will soon duff them for the extravagant Grace of God Almighty in Christ Jesus. I am sure the men in the town knew her. She may have been through some of them before marrying and divorcing 5 and now settling for a live in partner. What a chaotic life. Not only that the only people she has associated with are people and men who used, abused rejected and resented her like a commodity. However, her path crossed the Giver!! She was amazed that at last I have met someone, a man who knows me, my issues and my flaws and yet wants to give me something special. She has never seen such a man before. Now this was her exact message, “come and see a man….”. The Bible said she went right back to the men who used and abused her and preached something different – THE AMAZING EXTRAVAGANT GRACE OF GOD!! She left her earthly pot and the life giving words of Christ was enough to motivate her to preach. Jesus did not tell her woman, you have been all over the place, sit for 10 years, get cleaned etc. She did not need to do that because she did not preach herself or her boring old life, she preached the MAN who preached to her. She preached the CHRIST!! So the people of the town of Samaria, did not go looking for her but they all went looking for this same MAN Jesus!! The one thing Jesus was concerned about was that she received His word and understood it. This is like the Church today. Used and abused by many but Jesus continued blood borne forgiveness and Grace is still at work. Please the word of the Lord for you in this time is go and tell the message of Easter that He died, that He was buried and that He rose and everyman has now the opportunity. Two things we need to take home this Easter. We need to preach the CHRIST not ourselves. Also, we need to allow people to go to this Christ and know Him for themselves, instead of placing ourselves in the place of God and calling people “come to me and get your blessing”. It is no longer I that live but Christ that lives. Let the Holy Spirit and the spontaneity of the Christ come into the Church again. When I say Church, I do not mean the 4 walls but every where the Name of Christ is mentioned!

John 4

28The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

29Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

30Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

You must know Christ for yourself because you will experience things and people will say many things of you that will distract you and shut you up from preaching the Gospel. However know that the Gospel is not of yourself, or anyone but Christ. Paul said in me dwells no good thing but we preach Christ and him crucified. Note that the same thing happened in Mark 16. Jesus rebuked the disciples for their unbelief, hardness of heart and slowness but He commissioned them saying GO YE AND PREACH! He did not say, you don’t have faith now, sit down, take 10 lessons and before you do anything again, get cleaned up, none of that. He simply said Go and He said I am with you. That is what I sat to you today, go ye and preach the Gospel of Christ because HE IS WITH YOU!! That makes all the difference.

Mark 16

14Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES – 3

PARABLES OF THE SOWER CONTINUES

GROW IN GRACE

From Sam-Best Ewruje, an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

Please kindly read this in conjunction with series 1 and 2 – GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES. We have started with the parable of the sower which the Lord says is the key or door to all parables. As stated previously the SOWER is the Lord and He will continue to sow until the word becomes fruitful in our lives. I did say that most of us who are now Christians were like that until we heard the word so much that we became born again. Now we are to be vessels for the Sower to sow the word to others so many can be saved.

As the sower sows the word there are many things that compete for the words sown in our hearts as follows:

  1. The first glaring one is Satan coming immediately to steal the ones sown by the way side or the periphery of our hearts. He tries to kill and try to destroy the word. But the good news is that the sower never gives up and His words endures forever, the indestructible incorruptible words. He has been sowing since the foundation of the world.
  2. Next those on stony ground of our hard heartedness and so the word did not take root. It is like it bounces off the hard ground of our hearts. These receive the word with gladness. You see that all the time in the church. People’s minds are excited, within the 4 walls and as soon they step out of the 4 walls, affliction is waiting right by the door of your heart. Afflictions or persecution arises BECAUSE OF THE WORD!!! Offence is the next major thing that tries to kill the word. Jesus assures us that as long as you hear the word of the sower, after a while affliction will compete for it. Affliction will buffet or sift your mind such that you will begin to doubt the word and some leave fellowship with the Lord and refuse to hear the word of God because of that. We got to keep hearing the word whatever the weather.
  3. Next  is the thorn and thistles of our hearts due to the cares of this world, deceitfulness of riches and the lust of other things entering our hearts compete for and choke the words. Then the word becomes unfruitful. How many times in church have we prayed for things eg job, car, children and when we get these things they become our valid excuses for not doing the things of God. We suddenly put God in the back burner.

Finally, those sown on good ground will bear fruit. I said in the beginning of this series that though we may see this parable as different categories of people who hear the word but the most it ministers to me is that this can also happen in the same person. So as the sower continues to sow the word, first, Satan will distract us, then our hard heart resists, later even when we decide to listen to the word of Christ the sower, the cares of this world competes for it until the Lord grant us Grace to have insight. Then we fully receive the word and become fruitful. So this parable may refer to categories of people but more so different stages of our journey in life. For those who are Christians now, it is not the first time you heard the word that you gave your life to Christ. Like me you may have resisted at first asking unnecessary questions, getting into ego type arguments and such attitudes that were antagonistic to God’s word but as the sower continues to preach to you, eventually your heart melts and you yield to Jesus and let Him into your heart. The lesson is that we must let the Preacher or Sower preach through us in season and out of season and not to give up if someone did not receive the word even after many times of preaching to them. Your job is to preach or teach and leave the rest to the Holy Spirit to work in the hearts of men. So keep hearing the word for yourself and keep preaching the word for others to hear. Remember it is not you that work the word. The word will bear fruit of itself – Halleluya! It takes the stress out of preaching and ministry.

14The sower soweth the word.

15And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.

18And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

22For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

23If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

24And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

25For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES – 2

PARABLE OF THE SOWER

GROW IN GRACE, GOD IS GOOD

From Sam-Best Ewruje, an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

Please kindly read this in conjunction with the introduction to this series – GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES. We will start with the parable of the sower. The parable of the sower is a very important one and in Mark 4 Jesus uses the parable of the Sower and the seed and He emphasises that if you do not understand this parable, you will not understand any other parable because here the grace of God is manifested in extremes of situation. The parable of the sower is the gateway to ALL PARABLES!!! So let us be attentive.

Mark 4

13And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

As we said in part 1 of this series, Jesus spoke parables but did not expect people to understand but later he would explain the parable and teach them privately to the disciples. We concluded that it is good that no matter who preaches the word to you to still go to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to teach you in your personal private devotion. Do not just take everything hook line and sinker until you have checked it yourself just like the Berean Christians. Paul said the Berean Christians were more noble than others for searching the Scriptures for themselves.

Mark 4

33And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

34But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples

Acts 17

10And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Now let us look at Mark 4 thoroughly. Jesus was speaking to the multitude at the seaside. He starts with the parable that there went a Sower to sow. Jesus then told them the fate of some seed and their final outcome eg those by the wayside, those that fell on thorns and those that fell on good soil. Immediately, when we look at this parable, we automatically categorise people into groups, those that will benefit from the word and those that will not benefit from the word. This may be so. However as Jesus began to explain the parables to the privileged disciples, this parable becomes clearer. He began by saying “THE SOWER SOWETH the word”. Now many of us who are now Christians who believe in Christ will agree that it was not the first time you receive the word that you gave your life to Christ. Here in is grace manifested in this parable of the sower. Though the word first spoken to you fell on your hard heart or dry heart, the sower kept sowing the word. The SOWER is the Lord. He kept on sending people to preach to you, wooing you, appealing to you. Gradually things begin to make sense. He never gave up on you. He kept sowing the seed of the word. Eventually your heart melted, became soft and you accepted Christ. That is what the Kingdom is all about. The word of faith we preach is the word of God, not yours. Our job is to preach it in season and out of season persistently and consistently so that the Holy Spirit can sow the word deep into people’s heart and penetrate every stone heartedness until they become soft and begin to bear fruit. You will see further in Mark 4 that Jesus talked of the farmer that sowed the word and would sleep and wake and does not worry how the seed grows. He does not uproot it and say “where are your roots”. The same way, Christians need to develop the tenacity of the Jehovah’s witnesses (JW). They do not mind whether you come to their hall or not. They come to you. It is not your business how the seed grows. You just do your bit. PREACH! You see, anyone that follows what Jesus said will reap the fruit “Go ye into the world and preach”. The JW are doing it and they are seeing the fruit. They do not beg for money like we do because their gospel is not costly. The mormons are doing it , going out 2 by 2 in impeccable suits and doing it and they are reaping. However, what Christians do is to look on complacently waiting within 4 walls and condemn these people who are doing exactly what we are commissioned to do. Please be patient to read Mark 4

Mark 4

1And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

2And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

3Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

4And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

6But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

8And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

9And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

11And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

12That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

13And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

14The sower soweth the word.

15And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Mark 16

15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES 1

PARABLES

GROW IN GRACE

From Sam-Best Ewruje, an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

INTRODUCTION

We will go through a series in parables. Again, theologians, flex your muscles with all the analysis, interpretation and exposition of the Scriptures. There is grace and glory in parables. Sometimes we make doctrines out of parables, however we need to take them in context. We need the help of the Holy Spirit to really understand parables and extract grace, mercy and love from them. One of the most shocking things Jesus said about parables is that they are not meant to be figured out, or understood or perceived by just anyone because of their context!!! It is not for any private interpretation. It is only those that have been given the gift to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God KOG) that will be able to grasp the value of parables. Jesus will start His parables or stories by saying the KOG is like so and so. This is the most pivotal thing in understanding parables. Don’t ask me why Jesus would give grace to some to know the mystery and to others he would not. Sometimes Jesus tells stories or parables to confuse those who think they are wise like Pharisees and Sadducees or Lawyers whose primary motive was to catch Him out. Just like the Lawyer who asked Jesus “what must I do to be saved”. You do nothing to be saved other than to accept Jesus and His finished works. Your deeds or doings can’t save you!! So he told the Lawyer a perambulatory story even giving accolade to a Samaritan who is not supposed to know God but was yet more neighbourly than the Priest or Levite. Again, I believe Jesus use extreme stories or parables like the Prodigal son to tell His oppositions and detractors that “my ways and thoughts are higher than yours and you cannot comprehend it by mere human imagination, analysis or reason but only by the revelation of the Holy Spirit”. I believe this is what Jesus was saying, that it is people that the Holy Spirit gives revelation of such mysteries of the KOG that will understand. Note that when Jesus speaks in parables to some people He does not explain. He just dishes it out as it is. However, some clever people will go and ask Him especially His disciples and He will explain to them. The lesson here is that as you will see in the parable in Mark 4, do not just run away with just any preaching no matter who preaches it. You must have a personal time with the Lord, to talk with Him and ask Him as many questions on any sermon from whoever and let Him give you or tell you His heart and mind by the help of the Holy Spirit. You are responsible for what you hear, how you hear and what you do with what you hear. That is why the Lord’s judgement will be fair and just. Do not be carried away by every wind of teaching. Check it yourself and know it in a relationship with the Father and Jesus the Son. Don’t do hearsay, get it from the horse’s mouth as they say. You know sometimes Jesus would say ” you have heard so and so say …… but who do YOU say that I am”. Again the Lord Jesus will say “Ye HAVE HEARD (take note!) that it was …….. BUT I SAY unto YOU!!!

Mark 4

10And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

11And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: (THERE YOU GO, MEDITATE ON THAT – I DON’T KNOW WHY BUT HE SAID IT SO I BELIEVE)

12That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

24And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

For us to enjoy and grasp the truth in this series on GRACE AND GLORY IN PARABLES, We must know the following foundation truth with parables.

  1. 1. Note that any time the Pharisees, Sadducees or lawyers ask Jesus questions, it was to mock Jesus, or corner Him or ridicule or demean or undermine Him and His ministry.
  2. 2. So when Jesus answers them, He uses a story or parable that their human mind cannot understand unless by the Spirit of God. These are proud of the law, how obedient they are to the law, interpreting the law etc. They major in what they do or they can do rather than what God is doing. They neglect the grace, mercy and love of God and go about their own works of righteousness.
  3. 3. He does not speak to His own or His disciples in parable. He spoke plainly to His disciples and expected them to know the mystery of the kingdom which is a privilege we have as Children of God filled with the Spirit.

Watch out for this series. Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.

GOD IS NOT A DICTATOR

BREAKING THE YOKE OF “APES OBEY” MENTALITY

GROW IN GRACE, GOD IS GOOD

From Sam-Best Ewruje, an able minister of the New Testament, not of man nor by man, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy of Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness by Grace be unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free for life!

The Lord just taught me in His word that He is not a draconian dictator as most people try to portray Him.  Where did we get this “apes obey”, mentality from. Some have used it to put others in bondage and subservient in the name of authority and humility. By this also many merchandise the flock. So if you are not saying “yes sir, yes sir, then you are disobedient to authority. It is good to respect others but not as a mean to earn things from God. These things are not Scriptural in New Testament Covenant Ministry. Jesus even said that you do not wield authority like the Gentiles (ie apes obey or orders is order type of relationship). He said those in authority in the Kingdom should be as servants. Jesus said as a leader in the Kingdom, do not EXERCISE AUTHORITY OVER!!

Matthew 20

25But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.

26But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

27And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

God is Sovereign alright but He is not a dictator. Many have portrayed God as if He is saying you must do this and that before you can be blessed. You must obey or this and that. The blessing is in obedience and such theological diversions. However, this is not true. The Bible says you must do according to all that is written in this book of Law to be successful. No man could do that. Only the Lord Jesus has done this. He is the successful One and He passed this success upon us freely. The predicament we have today is that we have not really grasp the revelation of what Jesus did and so many have paraded gospels of how to do this and that, 10 steps to get things from God, course 101 ways to get God’s attention etc.   All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and that includes His blessings. Our works are as filthy rags. Only Jesus makes us count. The Bible also says that if you do all the laws of God and miss one, you are guilty and face wrath. So if you want to gauge your spirituality by tithing and how much you do for God, how much you pray, how much you give then you will always be under condemnation. As my friend Leslie Assih said during a discussion about the move of God and His Grace in Christ Jesus today, he said that the Lord made him aware long ago that if he has to do anything to get the blessing of God, then Christ means nothing. This is the hard truth.  Most people who preach such gospel will face trial because of persecution due to such revelation but that is the old devil’s trick. The devil does not want men to hear such good news of the perfect law of liberty so he would attack such people so many gullible ones will say where is the evidence and makes it difficult for people to receive such truths. Imagine Paul doing many great works and yet face so much hardship. In this age, he would be pursued from the church because he did not have the type of prosperity or clout or followers etc. Paul led to salvation of many but like Jesus he had very few that really stuck to and supported him. Paul like Jesus even went to a trial alone despite all the Lord was using him to do for others!!! Please let us walk in the Spirit.

James 2

10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

12So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

13For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Only Jesus fulfilled ALL jots and tittles of the law of God and He alone received THE BLESSING (note: not blessings). He then passed THE BLESSING to us. So we do not do anything to receive the blessing. I know when we say blessing, we think earthly – cars, moneys, houses or tangible things. Tangible things are secondary. The blessing on the other hand is the primary thing and it is about eternal or heavenly things especially salvation of the soul. We are in this world but not of this world so we should set our hearts and minds in heaven. So when we are saved we automatically have access to heavenly glory and this is the privilege we have to influence the earth. We cannot influence this earth by any earthly gimmick because whatever tangible things you can attain on earth, others have it. You can feed 10,000 as a Christian, but so can others. The new life or the life that makes all things new and impacts others with life is a blessing from heaven. We accept and receive it by believing God. He is not a dictator so He waits for our response. He is a living God of the time, so He works with us fresh in our generation according to His will and purpose. He is a relationship God who reveals Himself to those who really want Him and know Him and relate to Him. It is a love relationship.

Are we saying that we should not obey? Far from it. However, your obedience comes by the working of God through the Holy Spirit so that God can fulfil His purpose in Christ in us at such a time like this. It is not to earn anything from God. All things are FREE in Christ Jesus. It is these responses of our hearts and the inspiration the Lord imparts upon us that helps do the things that we do according to His good pleasure. He works in us to will and to do. So God does it and we receive or respond. So no one can boast. Paul termed it “sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience”. So your obedience is absolutely the work of the Holy Spirit not you. It is the same God who gave power to pray for 5 hours, the same God gives another person Grace to do 1 hour. So no boasting, or bragging or competition but a fulfilling of God’s plans and purposes in Christ Jesus as He works in us and inspires us to be what we ought to be and do what He has planned. He works in us to will and to do. That way unity will automatically flow in the Church. That is why the apostles did not spend their lives fighting their corners or for freedom or blessing etc. They knew they had it. As you grow older, you will realise all these stuff, achievement, success and other things which some use as yardsticks of spirituality  are all vanity.

Ephesians 2

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Romans 8

30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Philippians 2:13:

13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Halleluya. How can you neglect so great a salvation! If you are not saved, why don’t you receive what Jesus says.
