From Sam-Best Ewruje, an able minister of the New Testament, not of man, nor by man, not of blood, nor the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but by the will of God through the Grace and Mercy Christ given unto me. Abundance of Grace and Gift of righteousness which is by Grace be unto you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please be patient to read. It will set you free.
We continue with this interesting revelation of the theology of one. We said that God has an eternal plan through One Man Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The original plan of God has not changed which was to create a people for Himself who will worship Him eternally. What He did with Adam in the Garden was a start of this plan on earth. This plan was that Adam will live eternally, with Eve replenish the earth with many children of his kind but eventually they were deceived by the devil and man sinned and judgement and death came into the world. However God has to sacrifice His only Son to redeem mankind. He died for everyone that has ever lived, living and that will ever live on the earth even after this generation – AWESOME! It was and is still is His eternal plan.
We saw from Part 1 that private interpretation of the Bible has distracted from the main theme of the Bible which is the One Man Jesus Christ. Much of the private interpretation was rather to our own gain instead of the eternal purpose of God. This led to these “me, myself and I” prayers we do everyday creating a kind of Christian rat race. This rat race makes many think that some are better than the others or more spiritual or some bizarre non-biblical yardsticks of comparison and indeed competition. For example if God has called someone to be an intercessor, expectedly that person will be able to wait on the Lord for hours, fast and pray more because God has given the person that grace to do that for the body of Christ. That does not mean that person is better than someone who prays one hour every day. However in our own interpretation, that intercessor will in a subtle way be seen as more spiritual or more Christian than another who does not pray like the intercessor.
Then God by His mercies delivered me from these. He first delivered me from the human rat race by Christ Jesus, but when I became a Christian, I found even a greater rat race in the church – so we hear big man of God etc. Automatically by implication if you have big men of God then you will have small men of God and medium men of God. This has led to the fall of many leaders being placed on pedestal. So you will look at someone who God is using to do great things, place him or her on a pedestal and eventually those who are supposed to intercede for them who may just be lay members of the church will think that those leaders must be more spiritual than them hence God is using them. Far from it!! So instead of this lay member praying for such leaders they will be aspiring to be like them. Indeed such people are so isolated after the big meetings and they are struggling like you and I to walk with God. You would have heard many of them leaving big ministries and following women and fall flat on their faces. A major tool of the devil against such highly placed men is sex. They commit fornication, adultery etc. Folks it can happen to anyone!! Pray, Pray for the body of Christ. You are part of that body and when God blesses that body indeed the Bible says that you will be the first partaker of the fruit as you labour in prayer for the saints and your community. Let us move away from these “me, myself and I” prayers. Jesus taught the disciple a simple prayer starting with OUR and then continued with US and US and OUR etc. Let us follow that example.
The Christian faith is not about Benny Hinn or Billy Graham or TD Jakes or Chris Oyakhilome or Sam-Best even the “lowest” member of the Church. Indeed no high or low member. We are all equal in the sight of God and at the foot of the Cross of Christ. No big sinner or small siner. We were all sinners before God apart from the blood of Christ that took away the sins of the world. The Christian faith is about the One man Jesus. That is what God has preached from generation to generation, to the coming of Christ and He is still doing until His second coming. When Jesus came he was preaching the same thing that THE ENTIRE BIBLE IS ABOUT Jesus Christ Himself!!! It is all about Jesus. God is doing great and little things through Him on the earth today whether by Benny Hinn doing wonderful miracles or TD Jakes preaching his heart out loud or the little boy that gives an old man a seat in the bus. So no rat race. So you don’t aspire to be like TD Jakes or Baba Adeboye or anyone else. Desire to be who God wants you to be and fulfil that purpose. You that desire to be like Baba Adeboye, do you know his history, his struggles, trials, travels etc. It is only a person that wears the shoes that knows where it hurts.
We will stop here by simply saying that the Bible clearly states that the Scriptures say that the Bible is not of any private interpretation. Indeed it says that the first to know as a Christian is this fundamental truth that the things in the Bible are not for private interpretation. God says what He means and means what He says!! People take the ones they have placed in a pedestal and take whatever they say hook, line and sinker without checking it but Paul who was greatly used by God said even if he was the one preaching, he admonished the Christians of his days to check whether what he has preached is so and not to run away with hear-say. Read the Scriptures yourself and check whether it is so and let God by the Holy Spirit give you revelation.
2 Peter 1:19-21
19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
Wow!! How can you neglect such a great salvation?
Keep up with this series it will bless you forever.
