STOCKTON’S Parish gardens will be filled with festivities at a special day of worship to God and our Saviour, Jesus Christ every first Saturday of September every year. The next TEGOFEST will be on the 5th of September 2009.
The Grace Covenant Ministries will be hosting a gospel concert and variety entertainment in the gardens, with Gospel singing, music, dance, prayers, food counseling, talks and other modes of expression of the Christian faith.
Reverend (Dr) Sam Best-Ewruje, Pastor of Grace Covenant Ministries, the event organiser said: “This event will help the different people in Stockton integrate and learn more about each other. There are no denominational, cultural or national boundaries and we want to see the town’s Christians come together, whether they are newly arrived from abroad or have lived here for generations. We hope that this will become an annual event and I am looking forward to meeting some old friends and hopefully making some new ones.”
Councillor Mary Womphrey, Stockton Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “This is a great opportunity for Christians of all denominations to come together in a day of prayer and songs.”
The nearby Riverside Inn will be providing the electricity free of charge.
The Kings Choir is a project of Grace Covenant Ministries. We had a commercial for the local radio station and it’s on air in the local TV and on youtube. Please pass it on. Special Prayers and thanks to God for people, churches and ministries that have imparted our lives over the year especially Rev. Tunde Joda, Yinka Fregene, Martin Adu and the international Ministerial Council of Great Britian IMCGB.
Pastor Sam-Best Ewruje Remember - It is well with you TODAY! In the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
DEATH in the physical is a difficult concept to comprehend in the flesh. It
is one of the least discussed subjects in the Church. This is generally
because of the fear of death. Even the reggae maestro Peter Tosh got a hang
of this when he sang ³Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to
die.² To the glory of God Jesus has delivered us from the fear and power of
death.
Hebrews: 2 vs. 14-15:
14: Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also
Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy
him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15: and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime
subject to bondage.
Jesus, Paul and the other apostles talked freely and discussed death with
their followers and those close to them. They knew and understood that death
has been conquered through the Lord Jesus. Jesus told His disciple over and
over about his death on the cross. Paul also spoke to the brethren
especially Timothy about his death. It is probably to get them to prepare
their hearts towards the event. Expecting or talking death is difficult and
indeed a taboo even in the Church. Society, parents and individuals have
their yardstick of what a person should attain before dieing. There is also
disparity as what constitute a good age to die. Jesus our saviour and king
as a man died at approximately 33 years of age. Methuselah on the other hand
died at the age of 969 years. It is not something we pray for but born again
tongue talking devil chasing Christians still die and some even die young.
But how do we handle this important issue in christendom. Areas explored
include:
